About Kokomo

KOKOMO is a 58.4-metre sailing sloop built by the renowned New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts and launched in 2010, with a comprehensive refit in 2018 keeping her in showroom condition. The second-largest yacht ever built by Alloy and the largest pedigree sloop available for charter today, she was designed by Dubois Naval Architects with a contemporary interior by the celebrated British studio Redman Whiteley Dixon, and represents one of the finest sailing yachts on the water. She is a genuine thoroughbred, combining a long and successful regatta record with the comfort, refinement and amenities expected of a modern luxury charter yacht. At the heart of her performance is a towering 75-metre carbon-fibre mast by Southern Spars, carrying the largest asymmetric sail in the world, while a lifting ballast keel that extends from 4.9 to 8.1 metres balances outright pace under sail with the ability to slip into the shallowest bays and anchorages. Powered when needed by twin Caterpillar engines, she reaches around 15 knots and cruises comfortably at 13 to 14 knots. Built entirely in aluminium with a teak deck, she carries her considerable technology lightly, and her sailing awards, including honours from the ShowBoats Design Awards and the International Superyacht Society, speak to a design team at the very top of its craft. Life aboard KOKOMO belies her racing pedigree. Step below and her RWD interior is a serene world of cream furnishings, light and dark timbers, marble bathrooms and carefully placed art and sculpture, with natural light pouring through her windows to illuminate an elegant neutral scheme. Expansive lounge areas, full air conditioning and year-round comfort make her as relaxing at anchor as she is exhilarating under sail. On deck, a foredeck jacuzzi, generous sunbathing areas and sheltered cockpits invite long lazy days in the sun, while alfresco dining spaces are perfect for sociable evenings under the stars. She carries an extensive array of water toys, from Laser sailing dinghies and towables to wakeboards, kayaks, paddleboards, water skis and full dive equipment, and as a certified PADI dive centre she can even help guests earn their diving qualification. Accommodation is arranged for up to 10 guests across five en-suite cabins. The master suite is a peaceful retreat with a king-sized bed, sofa, desk and vanity and a well-appointed en-suite, complemented by a VIP, a double and two twin cabins, each finished to the same exacting standard with widescreen entertainment, generous storage and private bathrooms. A professional crew of 10 ensures first-class, discreet service throughout. Perfectly suited to families and keen sailors alike, KOKOMO cruises the Western Mediterranean in summer, taking in the glamorous ports and secluded anchorages of the South of France and Italy, and remains one of the most rewarding and characterful sailing yachts on the global charter market. For those who feel the pull of a true performance sloop matched with genuine luxury, she is without equal. Her rare combination of size, pedigree and comfort means she books quickly through the season, offered exclusively for charter through Cecil Wright and Partners at rates from EUR 240,000 per week plus expenses. Whether racing between headlands or lying quietly at anchor in a hidden cove, KOKOMO delivers a sailing experience that few yachts in the world can match.
