Fold out terraces and an e-foil together turn a charter yacht into a platform that opens to the water and launches you across it. The terraces fold from the hull at the waterline, extending the living space into an open deck just above the sea. The e-foil charges on the swim platform and lifts riders on a hydrofoil board, covering distance at speed without engine noise.
Four charter yachts carry both, ranging from the thirty-seven metre Takara One to the ninety-three metre Lady S. Takara One, a Sanlorenzo, brings fold out terraces close to a nimble, owner-operated size. Joy at seventy metres and Sunrays at eighty-six metres add multi-level terrace systems alongside full watertoys programmes. Lady S, a ninety-three metre Feadship, offers the largest terrace area in the fleet with a gravity-fed waterslide and an extensive toy store.
Weekly rates start at one hundred and fifteen thousand euros for Takara One and rise to one million seven hundred and fifty thousand for Lady S. Joy charters at seven hundred thousand and Sunrays at one million one hundred and fifty thousand. Budget roughly thirty percent for the advance provisioning allowance covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
The western Mediterranean leads the summer programme, with Sardinia, the South of France and Croatia offering calm anchorages where the terraces fold open above clear water and the e-foil glides over gentle swell. The Greek islands bring afternoon thermals that add challenge for experienced riders. From November the fleet shifts to the Caribbean, where the Bahamas and Saint Barths deliver flat, warm water through winter.
