Heesen is the Dutch yard that builds for speed. Its fifty metre hulls are aluminium, not steel, and they plane or semi-plane where most yachts of this size displace. That translates into faster repositioning, higher cruising speeds and a ride that feels more sport boat than superyacht. Sirocco is the senior hull, launched in 2006 with six cabins, a cinema, a gym and a clean flybridge layout. Rocket followed in 2011 at forty nine metres, a semi-displacement design with the performance Heesen is known for. Asya came in 2015 with five cabins, a beach club and a hydraulic swim platform. Home, the newest at 2017, adds a walkaround layout, a gym and six cabins across fifty metres.
Weekly rates open at one hundred and eighty thousand euros for Sirocco and reach two hundred and sixty five thousand for Home. Rocket sits at two hundred and fifty thousand and Asya at two hundred and twenty five thousand. Add roughly thirty percent for the advance provisioning allowance covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Fuel costs run higher than a displacement yacht at equivalent length.
All four yachts work the western Mediterranean in summer, with the Riviera, Sardinia and the Balearics the most common itineraries. Several cross to the Caribbean for winter, opening up Saint Barths, the Grenadines and the Bahamas. Tell us where and when and we will confirm availability.
