HOME is a 49.8-metre motor yacht built by Heesen Yachts and delivered in 2017. She is the world’s first motor yacht to combine Van Oossanen’s super-efficient Fast Displacement Hull Form with a hybrid propulsion system, a breakthrough that earned her multiple industry accolades: the Design & Innovation Award, the Baccarat Superyacht World Trophy, Most Innovative Yacht recognition and the RINA Green Award. The technology behind her is genuinely significant: four propulsion modes range from pure hybrid electric at nine knots (burning just 57 litres per hour) to full boost at 16.8 knots, giving HOME both exceptional efficiency for long-range cruising and genuine performance when conditions demand it.
Her exterior, by Omega Architects’ Frank Laupman, is immediately striking. An aggressive vertical bow cleaves the water with purpose, extended into a pair of twin bucket seats that hover over the bow, one of the most distinctive signature features on any 50-metre yacht. Large forward windows cleaved into the hull and walkaround decks with cut-out bulwarks frame the sea from every angle.
Cristiano Gatto’s interiors were briefed as simple and comfortable rather than minimal, delivering a relaxed Ibiza-style aesthetic that uses interior teak decking and floor-to-ceiling glass to blur the boundary between inside and sea. The main salon has an L-shaped leather sofa and formal dining area, the sky lounge carries teak floors and a large bar, and the sun deck features a sit-up bar, Jacuzzi, yoga space and an outdoor cinema projector.
Accommodation sleeps 12 guests across six staterooms: a full-beam main-deck master suite with dressing room, private office and a bath-and-shower en-suite, a full-beam lower-deck VIP suite, two double cabins and two twin cabins. With an air-conditioned beach-club gym, Naiad zero-speed stabilisers and a crew of nine, HOME runs at €265,000 per week in the Mediterranean and Caribbean.
The main deck aft of Home is the social heart of the exterior: a covered area with comfortable built-in seating, a dining table and a natural flow to the swim platform below. Whether for casual lunches or formal dinners under the stars, this space is purposefully designed for the pleasures of outdoor life at sea.
The main salon of Home is a considered and generous open-plan living and dining area that uses the finest materials, furniture and lighting to create a space that feels as refined and comfortable as a top private residence. Large windows ensure natural light throughout the day, and the natural flow from salon to aft deck makes indoor-outdoor living completely effortless.
The master suite of Home occupies the finest position on the yacht for privacy and natural light. A king-sized bed, sitting area, his-and-hers dressing facilities and a premium stone en-suite bathroom with shower and bath create a private retreat of the highest calibre, one that compares favourably with the finest suites in any shore-based five-star hotel.
The sun deck of Home is the highest and most panoramic outdoor space on board: a Jacuzzi, sun pads, comfortable loungers and a well-stocked bar create a space where guests naturally gather. Unobstructed views in every direction make it equally popular at sunrise and sunset.
