Twenty charter yachts carry both an on-deck pool and a waterslide, and the combination turns the stern of the yacht into something closer to a private water park. The smallest is the twenty nine metre Vivaldi, where the slide drops from the sun deck into the sea. The largest is the ninety seven metre Sophia, where the pool stretches to nearly six metres and the slide sweeps through two decks before launching guests into the Mediterranean.
The fleet clusters in two bands. Between forty two and sixty two metres, Moka, Freedom, Bello, Holdin’ My Own, Geco, Nomad, North Star and Roma carry ten to twelve guests in four to six cabins, with pools on the aft or upper deck and slides that retract or fold when underway. Above seventy metres, Lunasea, Mimtee, Arbema, Sunrays, Sophia and Lady S offer pools approaching swimming length, waterslides engineered into the superstructure, and toy inventories that extend well beyond the slide itself.
Weekly rates start at eighty thousand euros for Vivaldi and reach one million eight hundred thousand for Sophia. The core of the fleet charters between one hundred and thirty thousand and six hundred thousand, with the median around three hundred and fifty thousand. Add roughly thirty percent for the advance provisioning allowance covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
The Mediterranean dominates the summer calendar, with the South of France, Sardinia, Croatia and Greece all well represented. From November, several yachts cross to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, where warm water through the winter makes the slide and pool a daily fixture.
