Procida is the least-visited of the three islands in the Bay of Naples, and deliberately so. Compact and unhurried, its harbour of La Corricella is one of the most photographed fishing village scenes in Italy: stacked houses in yellows, pinks and terracottas reflected in calm green water. A motor yacht gives you the best of Procida without its limited accommodation and narrow lanes. You arrive by sea, anchor in the bay, tender ashore for lunch at one of the few restaurants that bother to look after their customers, and leave on your own schedule. Procida is easily combined with Ischia, 20 minutes west, and Capri, 45 minutes south, making it the ideal pivot point for a Bay of Naples circuit aboard a motor yacht. The fleet available for charter in this corner of Campania ranges from mid-size motor yachts of 25 to 40 metres, practical and fast, to larger superyachts that cruise down from Naples or Sorrento on day itineraries. Weekly rates start around 25,000 euros for a 20-metre vessel and climb to 300,000 euros for the largest superyachts with full crew. The APA of approximately 30 percent covers fuel, marina fees, provisions and harbour dues. High season runs June through September, with July and August the most popular months.
