Tahiti, the largest island in French Polynesia, serves as the gateway to the Society Islands and the wider South Pacific charter grounds. At 125,000 euros per week, yachts of 40 to 50 metres depart Papeete for the Leeward Islands, typically reaching Moorea within the first afternoon and building a week’s itinerary outward through Huahine, Raiatea, Tahaa and Bora Bora. Each island has a distinct character: Moorea’s dramatic volcanic ridges, Huahine’s village life, Raiatea’s navigable river, Tahaa’s vanilla-plantation motus and Bora Bora’s lagoon of international renown. Charter yachts at this rate carry full watersports programmes suited to the Pacific environment: diving on coral walls, snorkelling in the passes with sharks and rays, paddleboarding across lagoons of extraordinary clarity. The advance provisioning allowance adds approximately 37,500 euros to the weekly base rate, covering fuel, food and marina fees. The South Pacific charter season runs from May to November, avoiding the cyclone period. Papeete provides excellent provisioning, and Raiatea serves as the outer islands’ operational hub.
