Tortola is the commercial and nautical heart of the British Virgin Islands, and a motor yacht charter based here places guests within minutes of the most visited anchorages in the Eastern Caribbean. Road Town marina provides practical provisioning, efficient clearance for vessels moving between the US and British islands, and direct access to the Drake Channel. From Tortola, the standard BVI circuit runs south to Peter Island and Norman Island, north to Jost Van Dyke and east to Virgin Gorda, a loop that the 162-strong motor yacht fleet covers efficiently with time to spare for diving, watersports and unhurried sundowners at anchor. Motor yachts between 30 and 70 metres are available in the Virgin Islands fleet, covering options from nimble semi-displacement vessels capable of reaching Anegada in under two hours to large tri-deck flagships with beach clubs, helipads and cinema rooms. Weekly charter rates start from around 50,000 euros at 30 metres and rise to over 300,000 euros for the largest vessels in peak season. The BVI charter season runs strongest from December through April, when northeast trade winds moderate temperatures and anchorage conditions are reliable.
