The laminates are the foundation. Najad hulls are laid up substantially, with keel structures engineered to carry a deep ballast keel and bulkheads bonded properly to hull and deck so rig loads find a real path. The centre cockpit arrangement that defines most of the range is a structural decision as much as an ergonomic one, and it is engineered rather than styled.
Above the laminate sits the joinery, which is what most owners remember. Solid timber cabinet work, screwed and removable so systems stay reachable thirty years later. Thirty year old Najads routinely need only oiling, and that longevity is a large part of why values hold so firmly. Judge on condition rather than year, establish the standing rigging date, take moisture readings around deck fittings and chainplates, and inspect the diesel heater, engine and calorifier after cold seasons.
