AQUILA is an 85.6-metre motor yacht built by Derecktor in 2010, the largest yacht constructed in the USA since the 1930s. Originally launched as CAKEWALK, she underwent a complete transformation in 2016 under a twelve-month refit involving more than 1,000 people, with Pendennis handling the exterior styling alongside RWD and Susan Young’s new interior design.
The result is a cool, contemporary interior in icy silvers, dark browns and clean whites, centred on an 11.2-metre waterfall chandelier cascading down four levels from the sun deck to the lower deck. A cinema room with an 85-inch screen, a remodelled owner’s deck with its own 60-square-metre private deck, massage room, hair salon and study, and a members-club-style London Bar round out the interior spaces. An elevator connects the main deck to the sun deck throughout.
Outside, the forward sun deck houses a large jacuzzi, day bar and treatment room, while all four decks aft are arranged for al fresco dining and socialising, including a dedicated party deck with a DJ booth, AV system, smoke machine and light show. A large beach club at sea level provides access to an extensive water toy collection, supported by zero-speed stabilisers for comfort at anchor and a crew of 28 delivering personal service throughout the charter.

The exterior deck spaces of Aquila are laid out for the full range of superyacht charter experiences. An expansive aft deck provides a natural gathering point for meals and aperitifs, while the upper deck and sun deck above deliver progressively more sweeping views across the water. At 85.6 metres, the yacht offers considerable deck area for a group of 12 guests, with lounging, dining and social areas distributed across multiple levels to ensure privacy and variety throughout the day. Whether anchored off an idyllic coastline or in a bustling marina, the outdoor decks of Aquila create a superyacht experience that extends naturally from the interior to the sea.
Aquila’s water sport and leisure inventory is curated to offer genuine variety across any charter itinerary. A selection of high-quality tenders enables seamless transport between yacht and shore, whether for a restaurant dinner, a market visit or a beach excursion. Beyond transport, jet skis, paddleboards, kayaks, snorkelling and diving equipment support time on and in the water, while towable toys and inflatable platforms make the yacht accessible to guests of all ages and inclinations. The crew’s expertise with the toy inventory ensures that every session is safe, enjoyable and as adventurous as guests choose to make it.
Charter itineraries aboard Aquila span some of the world’s finest sailing grounds. Based in West Mediterranean, she is positioned to offer guests access to the most sought-after destinations in yachting: secluded coves accessible only by sea, historic port towns with exceptional dining, vibrant anchorages surrounded by like-minded yachts and genuinely remote coastlines where the only company is wildlife. The professional captain works with guests to construct an itinerary that balances activity and rest, discovery and relaxation, with the flexibility to adapt each day’s plan to the wind, the weather and the preferences of the group.
