BLUE II is a 55.9-metre motor yacht built by the Turkish shipyard Turquoise Yachts, delivered in 2020 and designed by Hoek Design to evoke the carefree heyday of gentlemen’s yachting. Her timeless, retro-chic exterior conceals genuinely cutting-edge technology beneath the surface, including hybrid propulsion for reduced emissions and fuel consumption, an ice-class 1B hull and an ice-breaker bow. The result is a yacht that is as much a head-turner in any anchorage as she is a serious feat of modern marine engineering, and her credentials speak for themselves: she has won the Boat International Design & Innovation Award for Outstanding Exterior Motor Yacht Design and the World Superyacht Award for Displacement Motor Yachts in her class.
Accommodation is genuinely unusual for a yacht her size, with two full master suites rather than the more typical single owner’s cabin. The first occupies the upper deck and enjoys sweeping 180-degree views alongside a spacious en suite bathroom, while the second sits on the main deck adjacent to the wellness area, complete with its own private office. Four further cabins on the lower deck, comprising two doubles and two twins, complete the accommodation, all finished with the same understated, traditional elegance that defines the rest of the yacht.
The interior carries Hoek Design’s classic styling throughout, with the main deck lounge and dining area flowing naturally into a separate main deck interior dining room for more formal evenings. The sky lounge offers a quieter retreat with a private cinema setup, ideal for movie nights or simply relaxing away from the main social areas. Generous outdoor space on the foredeck and main deck aft gives guests plenty of room for sunbathing and entertaining, in keeping with BLUE II’s classic, gentlemanly proportions.
Wellness is a genuine focus on board. A dedicated spa area includes a sauna, hammam, steam room and a well-equipped gym fitted with Technogym equipment, free weights and yoga mats, all accessible from the main deck near the second master suite. A hydraulic swim platform extends the living space down to the water, making access for swimming and water toys effortless at anchor.
BLUE II’s toy collection suits both relaxed and active charters: Sea-Doo waverunners, two Seabob F5s, Tiwal sailing dinghies, an e-foil, inflatable kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, alongside wakeboards, waterskis and a wakesurf board, are all carried aboard. A 9.5-metre Novurania chase tender leads her fleet for stylish transfers ashore, and her comprehensive audio-visual systems, including Savant, Spotify and Apple TV integration, keep guests entertained throughout the yacht.
Powered by twin Caterpillar engines giving a cruising speed of around 11 knots, and crewed by a team of 11, BLUE II is IMO Tier III compliant and built to genuinely high environmental standards for a yacht of her era. She cruises the Mediterranean, and her rare combination of two master suites, multi-award-winning design and quietly serious modern engineering make her a standout choice for guests who want classic style without sacrificing comfort or capability.
