CARPE DIEM is a 58.2-metre motor yacht built by the American shipyard Trinity Yachts, delivered in 2011 and maintained in immaculate condition by a single owner since new, with a full engine rebuild and new generators completed as recently as 2024. Naval architect Geoff van Aller’s sleek aluminium hull gives her a shallow draft and an exceptionally wide 10.2-metre beam, delivering noticeably more interior volume and deck space than many yachts of comparable length. The result is a tri-deck motor yacht that feels considerably larger than her measurements suggest, both inside and on deck.
Carol Williamson & Associates’ interior design draws on European Art Deco themes, layered with crocodile leathers, grey velvets and bold flashes of orchid purple set against neutrals, metallics, marble and onyx. The owner’s own collection of vintage black-and-white photography, including images of Marilyn Monroe by photographer Milton Greene, fills a grand full-beam foyer forward of the dining saloon, giving the yacht a genuinely glamorous, gallery-like atmosphere rarely found at sea. The main saloon centres on a welcoming bar aft, with a separate formal dining room forward and an upper saloon that makes full use of the extensive beam for relaxed lounging with sweeping water views.
Accommodation comfortably sleeps 12 guests across six staterooms. The full-beam master suite occupies the main deck forward, with a private study, a separate lounge area and his-and-hers bathrooms finished to the same high standard as the rest of the yacht. Below deck, two full-beam VIP suites and two further double cabins, each with their own en suite bathrooms, complete the layout; the forward VIP suite can additionally be reconfigured into two separate cabins, one double and one twin, for added flexibility depending on the charter party.
Deck life on CARPE DIEM is exceptionally generous for a yacht her size. Two aft decks provide dining and entertaining space across different levels, while a foredeck lounge offers a quieter spot for sunset cocktails or reading at anchor. Her sprawling sun deck is the standout, with a large jacuzzi finished in mosaic inlay comfortably seating twelve, surrounded by sun pads, sofas and a covered bar, alongside a dedicated gym aft. CARPE DIEM was built specifically with charter in mind, including a dumbwaiter and a separate interior crew stairway that allows service to move discreetly between decks without disrupting guests.
An approved RYA watersports centre, CARPE DIEM carries an extensive collection of tenders and toys, including jet skis, e-foil boards, seabobs, a waterslide from the sun deck, paddleboards, kayaks, waterskis, wakeboards and a complete beach party set-up for special occasions ashore. Her fully equipped gym, complete with a Peloton, treadmill and free weights, sits on the sun deck aft, while comprehensive audio-visual systems, satellite television and reliable Wi-Fi keep guests entertained and connected throughout the yacht.
Powered by twin Caterpillar engines giving a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 21 knots, CARPE DIEM is supported by a professional crew of around 11. She splits her charter calendar between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean and Bahamas, and her combination of generous volume, glamorous Art Deco styling and a proven one-owner history make her one of the most distinguished Trinity yachts currently available to charter.
