GALENE is a 55-metre motor yacht built by the Dutch shipyard Amels and delivered in 2020 as the last yacht in the hugely successful Amels 180 Limited Edition series. Named from the Ancient Greek word for serenity, tranquillity and calmness, she carries that spirit in every design decision: Tim Heywood’s exterior brings the proven, graceful lines of the 180 platform to their most refined expression, while Laura Sessa Romboli’s interior takes a subtly Art Deco-inspired approach using a palette of crisp cream and espresso tones.
Large windows flood the main salon and social spaces with natural light, while sliding glass doors allow seamless transitions between indoors and out. Three fold-down balconies, two in the main deck salon and one in the master cabin, dissolve the boundary between the yacht’s interior and the sea, creating a genuinely indoor-outdoor living experience. The bridge-deck salon has a 98-inch flatscreen TV with Apple TV that converts the space into a cinema-quality screening room at the touch of a button.
The sun deck carries a Jacuzzi, bar, waterslide and ample lounging space, while the beach club opens directly onto a swim platform extending with an inflatable dock for easy toy launches. GALENE is an approved RYA water sports centre, and her crew’s water-toy expertise is consistently singled out in charter guest reviews, with jet skis, e-boards, SeaBobs, wakesurf boards, paddleboards and an extensive inflatable toy collection all supported by a 10.5-metre Scorpion tender.
Accommodation sleeps 12 guests across five staterooms: the full-beam main-deck master suite with super-king bed, his-and-hers bathrooms and a private fold-down balcony, a VIP double cabin and three further cabins on the lower deck, two of which are twins with Pullman berths for families. A touch-and-go helipad on the sun deck gives GALENE long-range flexibility for arriving and departing guests.
Powered by four MTU engines to a maximum of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 13 to 13.5 knots, with a 4,500 nautical mile range, GALENE divides her year between the Mediterranean in summer and the Caribbean in winter. Not available for charter to U.S. residents while in U.S. waters. She is managed through Edmiston with a crew of 13 who receive rave reviews for warmth and professionalism across every charter season.
As the fourteenth and final yacht in the celebrated Amels 180 Limited Edition series, GALENE carries the cumulative refinement of everything the platform has learned.
Crisp cream and espresso tones, tactile materials and deliberate Art Deco references create an interior that feels simultaneously timeless and contemporary.
The main-deck master suite has a super-king bed, his-and-hers bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes, plus a private fold-down balcony for unobstructed sea views.
Two balconies in the main salon and one private to the master suite open GALENE’s interior to the sea, creating a genuinely fluid indoor-outdoor experience.
A 98-inch flatscreen and Apple TV convert the bridge deck salon into a private cinema at any time of day or night.
A dedicated VIP double cabin provides generous accommodation for a second principal guest or couple.
GALENE’s RYA-approved crew are consistently praised by guests for their water-toy knowledge, making every day on the water genuinely different.
