La Gatta is a Lagoon Seventy 7, the flagship of the Lagoon range and one of the most requested large sailing catamarans in the charter market. Designed by VPLP with exterior styling by Patrick Le Quement and interiors by Nauta Design, she pairs the space and stability of a big catamaran with genuine sailing ability and a level of finish closer to a motoryacht than a production cruiser. For a family or a group who want to sail without giving up comfort, she is close to ideal.
Her defining quality is volume. At just over 23 metres with an eleven metre beam, she offers the kind of living space a monohull twice her length would struggle to match. The main deck salon is a single, light filled room wrapped in panoramic glass, with a lounge, a bar and a dining area all on one level and all opening directly to the shaded cockpit aft. There are no steps between the salon and the outdoor living space, so the boundary between inside and out simply disappears when the doors are open.
She sleeps eight guests across four cabins, each set low in the hulls with large windows at the waterline and its own bathroom. The owner takes a generous full width suite, and the further doubles and a twin are finished to the same calm, contemporary standard in pale wood and soft neutral fabrics. The layout keeps the two guest hulls symmetrical and private, so no cabin feels like the lesser one. A crew of four, living forward and separate from the guest areas, runs her with the easy informality that suits a catamaran holiday.
Life aboard happens outside. The flybridge carries a jacuzzi for four, sun pads and a second helm, while the foredeck offers trampolines and a forward lounge for sailing or stargazing. Aft, a beach club style swim platform drops to the water, and the shallow one point nine metre draft lets her tuck into bays and beaches that keep deeper yachts offshore. Her toy locker is deep: a carbon e foil, underwater scooters, paddleboards, electric bikes and a Williams jet tender, with a Van Dutch chase boat available on request.
Under sail she is quiet, stable and surprisingly quick for her size, and under power she cruises easily between anchorages, so a week aboard can be as active or as restful as guests choose. Air conditioning throughout and fast onboard wifi keep her comfortable and connected wherever she is anchored. She spends her summers in Greece and the wider West Mediterranean, moving between the islands and the coast, and crosses to the Caribbean for the winter, where the Virgin Islands, Antigua and St Barts are within easy reach.
La Gatta is the rare large catamaran that feels genuinely designed rather than simply built. She offers the space of a small ship, the shallow draft and stability of a multihull, and the finish and service of a private yacht, all in one confident, contemporary package. For a family charter that wants to sail, swim and explore in comfort, she is a standout choice, and she books early for the peak Greek and Caribbean weeks.
