Lulu is a 2025 Lagoon sailing catamaran, one of the newest of her kind working the Greek islands, and she offers a way of chartering that a motor yacht cannot: quiet, level sailing across the wind, a shallow draft that opens up the bays the deeper boats avoid, and a wide, stable platform that sits still at anchor. Eight guests travel in four cabins with a crew of three.
The appeal of a catamaran under sail is the calm. Two hulls carry a beam of nine metres, so the decks are broad and level and the boat holds steady where a monohull would heel and roll. With the main and headsail set she comes into her own, quick and level across the wind, and the engines stay off for hours at a time, which changes the character of a day at sea entirely.
The main deck is one light, open room. A salon in pale timber and white runs across the full width, soft seating and a dining table gathered under glass on every side with the sea close on both hands. A full galley sits along the aft edge, open to the cockpit through wide doors so the cook stays in the same room as the group, and an inside helm and navigation station forward gives a working desk with a clear view out over the bow. The cockpit aft is a wide, shaded outdoor room that flows straight off the salon, the natural centre of the boat in good weather.
Forward, the deck runs out to netted trampolines slung between the hulls, the place to lie over clear water on passage and the quietest spot on board at anchor. It is the part of a sailing catamaran that guests remember, a hammock the length of the bow with the sea running underneath.
Below, the four cabins spread across the two hulls, which is the other advantage of the platform: each cabin sits in its own side of the boat rather than stacked along a corridor. The master takes a full hull with a wide bed, long windows at the waterline and a private bathroom. A double and a twin follow in the same pale palette, each with good natural light from the hull windows and a bathroom of its own.
For a new boat she is well equipped for a modern charter: Starlink keeps the connection live, an outdoor cinema sets up on deck for the evenings, and the watersports kit runs to Seabobs, paddleboards, a Fliteboard and a Highfield tender off the stern.
Lulu charters the Greek islands under sail through the summer, and she fits the ground as well as any boat can. The shallow draft reaches the anchorages the larger yachts cannot, the stability makes the meals and the sleeping easy, and the sailing itself is the point rather than a novelty. Delivered new in 2025 and chartering from 22,000 euros a week, she is an easy, quiet and current way to see the islands the way they are best seen, from the water and under sail.
