MAESTRO came out of a full refit in 2024 with a new interior, a repainted hull and a layout that finally matches what she is good at. Mondomarine built her in aluminium in 2013, and she was a World Superyacht Awards finalist the following year. A decade on, the rebuild has made her one of the more current 40-metre yachts working the Greek islands.
She holds a full Greek charter licence, which is the practical detail that matters most here. It means she can pick guests up in Athens and work the Saronic, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese without the routing gymnastics that constrain foreign-flagged yachts in Greek waters. Croatia, Montenegro and the Turkish coast are all within a comfortable passage. Her photography was shot around Poros and the Argo-Saronic, and that is where she spends most of her season.
The refit went further than a repaint. The interior was taken back and rebuilt around the current layout, the exterior went to a clean snow-white, and the deck furniture and soft goods were replaced throughout – which is why she photographs like a much newer yacht than her 2013 delivery date suggests. Twin 2,185hp MTUs give her 18 knots flat out and 14 at cruise, on a semi-displacement aluminium hull that stays comfortable in the short Aegean chop.
The 2024 interior is bright, low-contrast and modern: pale oak, white leather, matt bronze and a lot of glass. The main deck lounge runs almost the full length of the deck, opening from a seating group with deep sofas at one end to a marble dining table for twelve at the other, with no bulkhead between them. It makes the main deck read as one long room rather than three small ones. Up a level, a second lounge gives guests somewhere quieter, with a large screen, a table set into the forward windows and direct access aft.
Outside, she is generous for her length. The sun deck carries a proper jacuzzi set into teak with sun pads and olive trees around it, and a shaded seating area aft. The upper deck aft is the yacht’s main dining space – a long table under the overhang with the sea on three sides, laid for twelve and used morning and night. Below that, the main deck aft is the quiet one: a curved settee, a low table and space to sit out of the sun.
Accommodation covers twelve guests across six cabins, all rebuilt in 2024. The master sits forward on the main deck with its own study and a walk-in wardrobe. Below, a VIP, a double, two cabins that convert between double and twin, and a dedicated bunk cabin – a layout that handles two families as easily as one large group, and one of the few 40-metre yachts that does not force children into a convertible sofa.
Nine crew run her, and the Greek licence means the crew know the cruising ground rather than visiting it. Toys are stowed aft, and at 18 knots she has enough in reserve to move between islands on a whim rather than a schedule.
For charter parties who want the Aegean specifically – not the Riviera, not the Balearics – MAESTRO is the pragmatic choice: recently rebuilt, correctly licensed, and laid out for real groups rather than for a brochure.
