About MOONLIGHT II

Few yachts on the charter market can take more than twelve guests. MOONLIGHT II takes thirty-six, and she does it without the compromises that number usually implies.

At 91.4 metres she ranks among the largest yachts available for charter anywhere, and her scale is the point rather than the boast. Eighteen cabins across four decks mean a family reunion, a milestone birthday or a corporate group travels together instead of splitting across two boats. Ten doubles and eight twins reconfigure to suit whoever is aboard. A lift serves every guest deck, which changes how a group of this size actually moves around a yacht.

She was built at Neorion on the Greek island of Syros and delivered in 2005 as ALYSIA, commissioned by Andreas Liveras alongside a sister ship. In 2015 she was extended from 85.3 to 91.4 metres. A programme of work through 2020 and 2021 brought her interiors and systems current. The Grecian-themed rooms – marble, colour, deep carpet, painted ceilings – are unusual on a yacht of this generation and give her a character newer tonnage rarely carries.

The wellness offering makes the strongest case for her. A spa amidships holds a hammam and a sauna, with a treatment room and a masseuse aboard. Next to it sits a beauty and hair salon staffed by a qualified hairdresser and beautician, alongside a medical facility. The gym is properly equipped – treadmill, cross trainer, bikes, free weights, training bench – rather than a token corner. Very few charter yachts carry all of that at once.

Above, the sun deck runs almost the full beam: a bar, a jacuzzi, shaded seating under white parasols, and open teak for anyone who wants the sun. The owner’s deck keeps its own jacuzzi and sunbathing, private from the rest of the yacht. A cinema on the upper deck seats a crowd, and a beach club at sea level opens with a bar and a small balcony that folds out over the water for two.

Watersports run seriously here. She is an approved RYA training centre, so guests can be certified aboard for personal watercraft rather than simply handed the keys. Four waverunners, two stand-up jetskis, four underwater scooters, a flyboard, kayaks, paddleboards, waterskis, a wakeboard, inflatable tows, dive and snorkelling equipment and fishing gear travel with three tenders.

Zero-speed stabilisers hold her steady at anchor, which matters most on a yacht carrying this many people at rest through long evenings. Two Caterpillars give 13 knots flat out and 12 in normal passage; at 3,052 gross tons she carries her length as volume rather than speed.

Her season splits neatly. Summers run the Mediterranean – Croatia, Montenegro, Italy, Corsica, Sardinia, the Balearics and the French Riviera – and she is fully licensed for Spanish waters. Winters take her to the Middle East, based around Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where warm-water cruising continues after the Med closes.

A crew of thirty-six runs her, close to one for every guest. That ratio, more than any single feature, is what keeps a yacht of this size feeling manageable rather than institutional.
