PERFORMANCE FEE belongs to the older tradition of the Aegean, a hand-built wooden gulet that sails properly yet carries the space and service of a modern charter yacht. Delivered in 2011 and refitted in 2024, she measures 39 metres and takes twelve guests across five staterooms, with a crew of seven to run her. She is a yacht for people who want the character of timber and canvas without giving up comfort.
Her lines are pure gulet: a long wooden hull, two masts and a broad, uncluttered deck built for life outdoors. Under way she can raise a full rig and move quietly along the coast when the wind allows, or settle onto her twin Volvo engines for the passages between islands. Her shallow draft is part of the appeal, letting her slip into the turquoise bays of the Turkish and Greek coast and drop anchor close to shore where larger yachts have to stand well off.
Inside, the mood is warm and calm. The main salon runs wide and bright, finished in rich mahogany with blue and white seating and a long table for meals taken indoors. A separate dining and bar area gives the space a second focus, a relaxed spot for drinks and long dinners once the sun has gone. Soft sofas and low tables form a comfortable lounge within the same room, the natural place to gather in the cooler hours. Large windows keep the sea in view from every seat.
Accommodation is spread across five staterooms for twelve guests, all in the same warm timber and crisp linen. The master is the largest, with its own seating and a private en-suite, while the double and twin cabins each offer a quiet retreat with an en-suite bathroom of their own. One guest cabin adds a writing desk for those who want a little work space aboard. The layout suits a family or a group of friends who value privacy as much as shared time on deck.
Life aboard PERFORMANCE FEE is built around the water and the deck. The broad teak decks give guests room to spread out, with shaded seating for lazy lunches, open areas for sunbathing and a full spread of water toys for the more active days. Days begin with a swim from the stern, run through long lunches in the shade and easy afternoons exploring the coast by tender, and end with dinner under the stars as the gulet lies at anchor in a quiet cove. Meals lean on the flavours of the region, simple Aegean cooking built around what the local markets offer that morning. The crew handle the sailing, the tender and the table, leaving guests free to do as much or as little as they please, and the pace stays unhurried from the first morning to the last.
Refitted in 2024, she is a well kept example of the classic Aegean gulet, honest in materials and generous in space. For charters along the Turkish and Greek coast, she offers something the modern fleet often lacks: real wooden character, an unhurried pace and the simple pleasure of moving under sail when the day is right.
