SEVERIN*S is a 55-metre motor yacht built by Baglietto at La Spezia and delivered in 2020, the latest model in the Italian shipyard’s classic T-Line series and a yacht conceived explicitly for the charter market from the first line drawn. Her name is a play on the Latin word for evening, Severin, and a star, and the typography is intentional: the asterisk between the two halves appears in every reference to the yacht, a small piece of personality that extends across all her branding.
Francesco Paszkowski Design was responsible for both the exterior and interior, working with Margherita Casprini on the interior finishes, earning SEVERIN*S a nomination at the Boat International Design & Innovation Awards 2021 for Best Interior Design Motor Yachts 500GT and Above, as well as a World Superyacht Awards 2021 nomination for Displacement Motor Yachts Between 500GT and 999GT. The interior uses a sophisticated grey palette complemented by wall panels ranging from wood grain to fabric to abstract feature walls, with marble floors, chrome detailing and artwork throughout creating a refined, contemporary atmosphere.
The sun deck is SEVERIN*Su2019s signature space: 160 square metres of socialising area incorporating a glass-fronted swimming pool, a fully stocked bar, a large sunbathing zone to the stern and a shaded dining table. A panoramic elevator links all three decks for effortless movement around the yacht, while a formal dining table in the main salon seats up to 12 guests, the adjacent in-and-out space opening completely to the aft deck or enclosing for climate control as conditions demand.
The beach club, housed in the foredeck to free up the stern entirely for social use, incorporates a steam shower, a well-equipped gym and a bar. An onboard masseuse is available, and the bridge-deck multipurpose area can convert between a sixth cabin, a massage room or a childrenu2019s playroom depending on the charter partyu2019s needs, giving SEVERIN*S a flexibility of layout that is genuinely useful.
Accommodation sleeps 12 guests across six staterooms. The voluminous master suite on the main deck has a walk-in wardrobe and a private office. One double and one twin cabin share the main deck, while the two VIP cabins sit on the lower deck. Sea-Doos, paddleboards, towable inflatables, a Seabob and snorkelling equipment join a Castoldi 21 and an Axopar chase tender to complete the water toy inventory. Twin Caterpillar engines push SEVERIN*S to 16.5 knots maximum and 14 knots cruising. She is managed through Edmiston with a crew of 13, cruising the Mediterranean in summer.
SEVERIN*S was conceived explicitly for charter use, with a layout that separates the owneru2019s deck from guest areas and a sun deck built for pure social living.
Grey palette, wood grain and fabric wall panels, marble floors and chrome detailing create a refined, contemporary interior that earned two major award nominations.
The voluminous main-deck master suite includes a walk-in wardrobe and private office, finished in the Paszkowski signature grey palette.
A glass-fronted pool, stocked bar and 12-seat shaded dining table make the sun deck one of the most complete in the 55-metre class.
