A charter aboard SURFBIRD is centred entirely on Alaskan adventure. This 35-metre (115-foot) steel-hulled explorer was purpose-built for exploration, and following an extensive 2026 refit with stunning all-new interiors she combines rugged capability with a warm, inviting sense of home. Her crew are Alaska specialists who craft memorable excursions, whether that means whale watching, bird watching, bear spotting, exploring by jet boat or heading out for an afternoon of kayaking and paddleboarding.
One of the great pleasures of a SURFBIRD charter is the marriage of adventure and cuisine. After a successful day on the water, guests can return to the yacht and enjoy their fresh catch, prepared by the chef and served against a backdrop of lush wilderness, towering glaciers and Alaska’s seemingly endless golden hour. Guests can try their hand at world-class fishing, crab and shrimp catching, or venture ashore for hiking and expedition-style experiences, all from the comfort of a yacht built for the task.
Inside, SURFBIRD’s new interiors feel warm and welcoming. The main salon is the natural gathering place before and after each day’s excursions, with rich wood joinery, exposed ceiling beams and expansive panoramic windows that frame Alaska’s ever-changing scenery. The open-plan dining area comfortably seats up to eight guests, while the adjacent gourmet galley with marble countertops encourages easy interaction with the crew as meals and cocktails are prepared.
Accommodating eight guests across four cabins, she offers a comfortable retreat after days spent exploring ashore and on the water. The primary stateroom features a king berth, custom cabinetry and an en-suite with a marble vanity, dual sinks and a large glass-enclosed rainfall shower. Two queen guest staterooms and a twin cabin with upper and lower berths complete the accommodation, all finished with the same rich custom woodwork, soft neutral furnishings and elegant nautical detailing.
SURFBIRD is thoroughly set up for fishing, with a rigged cockpit, purpose-built equipment, rod storage and ample space for serious anglers. The full-beam swim platform provides easy access to the water for swimming or launching toys, while the foredeck davit deploys the yacht’s tender and jet boat for deeper exploration. At the end of the day, guests can soak in the flybridge Jacuzzi, enjoy a drink at the bar or settle into the aft-facing loungers to take in the view.
Her toy and tender selection is tailored to the region: a Highfield centre-console, a Wooldridge jet boat for upriver exploration and beach landings, a small solar jet vessel, a fleet of kayaks and paddleboards, and a comprehensive array of halibut, salmon and fly-fishing gear, complete with a halibut permit that allows fishing directly from SURFBIRD.
Throughout the journey, Alaska remains the star of the show. Guests may encounter whales, bears, eagles and otters, often in places inaccessible to traditional travel. With her explorer design, steel hull and superstructure, adventure-focused amenities and a crew devoted to creating extraordinary experiences, SURFBIRD is an exceptional platform for discovering Alaska in a way few ever will.
Compact enough to slip into hidden coves yet fully equipped for serious exploration, SURFBIRD offers an intimate, immersive way to experience Southeast Alaska’s wildlife, glaciers and world-class fishing, all with the easy comfort of a warm and characterful home base.
