About TIREA

Yachts rarely change length. TIREA did. In 2022 she went into the yard at 45 metres and came out at just under 50, a five-metre hull extension that rebuilt her stern, added a proper beach club and shifted her from a capable Mediterranean cruiser into something closer to a purpose-built one. The work earned a nomination for Refitted Yachts at the 2024 World Superyacht Awards. Charter guests get the result rather than the story: more deck, more volume aft, and a swim platform that now works as a room.

Factoria Naval de Marin built her in Spain in 2011 to naval architecture and exterior lines by Reymond Langton, with interiors by the Florentine studio Spadolini. Inside she stays deliberately traditional, figured cherry panelling, cream upholstery, navy accents, gold-tone fittings, and the effect is calmer than the current fashion for pale oak and glass. Wide windows carry the light through the main salon, and the formal dining room seats ten under a coffered ceiling with the coast running past on both sides.

Ten guests in five cabins is the number that matters most here. On a yacht approaching 50 metres, that is roughly two-thirds the density most owners specify, and it shows everywhere: cabins are larger than the class average, bathrooms run to twin basins and separate showers, and the public rooms never have to work at capacity. The owner’s suite takes a full-width position with its own seating area and a marble bathroom finished in mosaic and gold.

The extension paid for itself aft. The transom now opens into a beach club at water level, shaded by parasols, with a gym set behind it and the water toys staged directly off the platform. An 11.5-metre Axopar 37 chase boat handles the range work, a genuinely fast tender rather than a limousine, backed by two Yamaha jet skis, two Seabob F5 S units, wakeboards, skis, paddleboards, a set of Jobe towables and two Nautibuoy floating platforms that clip on to make the swimming area larger. There is even an inflatable golf setup with eco balls, which sounds like a gimmick until the second afternoon at anchor.

Above, the sundeck carries sunpads forward, a bar and shaded seating aft under the radar arch. The bridge deck answers with a lounge, a second bar and a large screen that turns the space into an outdoor cinema after dark. Ten crew look after ten guests, a one-to-one ratio that few yachts this size run.

She cruises at 11 knots and tops out at 15.4, which places her firmly in the displacement camp: this is a yacht for settling into an anchorage rather than chasing one. Her season splits between the West Mediterranean and the East Mediterranean and Adriatic, and she winters in the same eastern grounds, which makes her one of the few 50-metre yachts genuinely available for Croatian and Montenegrin itineraries outside the peak weeks.

For a group of eight or ten who want space rather than headcount, a serious tender, and a beach club that was designed rather than retrofitted into an afterthought, she reads as a precise fit, and unusually good value against the newer boats she now sits alongside.
