Cantiere delle Marche / Cantiere delle Marche Darwin Class 115
The Darwin Class 115 is the largest expression of Cantiere delle Marche’s defining explorer line, a 35-metre steel-hulled yacht engineered for owners whose cruising ambitions reach the far corners of the world. Drawn by Hydro Tec, she takes the proven Darwin hull to its fullest scale, combining a 330-tonne displacement platform with a 5,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots. Twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines of 500 kW each give her a 13-knot maximum and an efficient 11-knot cruise, matched to 55,390 litres of fuel for genuine transoceanic independence.
The 7.70-metre beam creates a generous full-superyacht interior, with eight guests accommodated in four cabins including a full-beam owner’s suite, plus two Pullman berths. Seven crew in four cabins operate the yacht to professional standards without encroaching on guest areas. A 10,070-litre fresh water capacity supports extended self-sufficient cruising far from marina services.
Built to order at the CdM shipyard in Ancona, the Darwin Class 115 offers the deep customisation of a semi-custom superyacht on a platform refined across the entire Darwin fleet. Her 2.60-metre draught remains modest for the size, keeping remote anchorages within reach, while the robust steel construction and conservative machinery choices reflect a design built for reliability over thousands of miles of ocean passage.

Twin Caterpillar C18 ACERT engines of 500 kW each drive the Darwin Class 115 to a 13-knot maximum and an 11-knot cruise. The full-displacement hull is engineered for endurance, delivering 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots from 55,390 litres of fuel, enough for ocean crossings with a substantial reserve. At 330 tonnes full load she carries the inertia to remain comfortable in heavy weather, with stabilisers controlling roll under way and at rest. The 2.60-metre draught stays shallow for the displacement, and the conservative, heavy-duty machinery package is specified for dependable service in remote waters far from support.
Hydro Tec scaled the Darwin language to 35 metres without losing its honesty. The tall, flared bow and raised bulwarks protect the decks on passage, the wheelhouse commands long sightlines, and the broad aft deck carries substantial tenders and water toys. Steel below the waterline and an aluminium superstructure above balance strength with weight control. Generous walkaround side decks and a logical layout keep the yacht safe to handle at sea, while the enlarged sun deck and foredeck provide expansive private outdoor areas, each enjoying the elevation and separation that a yacht of this size makes possible.
The Darwin Class 115 sleeps eight guests in four cabins, with two Pullman berths for additional flexibility. The full-beam owner’s suite takes full advantage of the 7.70-metre beam, offering a large stateroom with private study, walk-in wardrobe and en-suite bathroom. Three further guest cabins on the lower deck each have private facilities. Seven crew are accommodated in four cabins with a dedicated mess, supporting the service levels expected of a yacht this size. CdM’s semi-custom build lets owners rework the lower-deck layout, choose their own interior designer and specify every finish to suit long periods aboard.
The main salon anchors life aboard the Darwin Class 115, opening aft to a large sheltered deck for dining and lounging at anchor. A sky lounge or upper salon adds a second interior living area with direct access to the upper aft deck. The expanded sun deck accommodates a spa pool, sunpads, bar and shaded dining, a complete outdoor living level in its own right. The foredeck offers a quieter retreat, while aft a tender garage and generous bathing platform form a proper beach club for swimming, diving and launching toys in warm anchorages.
Cantiere delle Marche builds each Darwin Class 115 to order in Ancona, classed to RINA and fully specified around the owner’s intended use. The 330-tonne steel hull, 55,390-litre fuel capacity and 10,070-litre water capacity are engineered for sustained ocean self-sufficiency, while the crew accommodation supports professional operation on extended voyages. As the flagship of the most delivered explorer range in its segment, the Class 115 combines bespoke customisation with the reassurance of a thoroughly proven platform. For owners planning worldwide cruising at full superyacht scale, it is among the most credible explorers available.
