Her cockpit does the work of two boats.
A U-shaped seating arrangement wraps the aft deck for socialising, and the hardtop above carries tarpaulin side panels with foil windows that close the whole space against wind and spray. Open it up and she is a day boat built for swimming stops, with sun loungers set into the foredeck and stern and a wide bathing ladder off the transom. An optional wet bar, with fridge, electric grill and electric cooker, turns the same deck into a proper outdoor kitchen when the anchor is down. At 3.5 metres across the beam on an 11 metre hull, she keeps her footprint manageable without feeling cramped on deck.
Two cabins and a wet room that feels built for real use, not a weekend’s tolerance.
The forward double cabin steps down with two stairs on the starboard side for easier entry, and ventilated cushions keep the berth comfortable through warm nights. A second cabin brings total sleeping accommodation to four guests, with eight more welcome for day trips above deck. The wet room carries an openable porthole, an electric marine toilet, a washbasin and a pull-out shower head, a genuine bathroom rather than a shared cupboard. In the saloon, a galley with cooker and sink blocks sits opposite the seating bench, which takes three in comfort and four at a push. Storage throughout is generous, the kind of detail that only shows itself after a few weeks of real use.
She settles into chop rather than fighting it.
Standard twin Z-drives, helped by an optional bow thruster, make tight manoeuvring in a marina straightforward, and the hull skips smoothly over broken water rather than slamming through it. Slalom turns stay safe and predictable, helped by a driving position with genuine sports seat support and easy to read instruments. Power trim is standard, with optional trim tabs to smooth the transition from displacement to planing, and the twin diesel layout gives her the range to run comfortably between harbours as well as the control to thread into a tight berth. She drives like a boat built for her owner’s hands, not just her brochure photographs.
Three engine options, one clear idea of what the Power 36 is for.
The standard Volvo Penta D4-300 is enough for most owners, while the D6-370 and the Mercury Diesel 3.0 litre V6 above it suit those who want more speed in reserve. Across the range she tops out around 36 knots, with a cruising speed of 25 knots that keeps fuel burn sensible over a 300 nautical mile range from her 700 litre tank. At 8 tonnes displacement, she is light enough to come onto the plane quickly and stay settled once there. It is a performance profile built for consistent, repeatable use rather than a single headline speed figure.
A small cruiser engineered with the same care as a much larger yacht.
Permanently fitted lines and hoses, extra diesel filters, remote fuel taps and well mounted batteries point to a build that takes its systems seriously, and electronic main switches with accessible circuit breakers make the Power 36 straightforward to live with. A standard anchor, electric windlass and bow roller, together with bilge and fire extinguishing systems as standard, cover the essentials without extra cost. Air conditioning and heating remain options for owners who want them. Designed and engineered by the Focus team, with a single crew member able to run her day to day, she suits an owner who wants a capable, well equipped 36 footer without the overheads of a much bigger boat.
