At 11 tonnes, she is the lighter of the two Demons, and it shows the instant the throttles open.
Twin Mercruiser 8.2 MAG HO DTS engines come as standard, with Volvo Penta D6 400 or D6 440 pairings offered for owners who prefer that marque. Cruising speed holds at 30 knots and the top end reaches 40, delivered with the agility that comes from carrying a tonne less than her sister model. A 1.2 metre draught opens up shallow anchorages that deeper boats have to avoid, and 1,200 litres of fuel stretch to 300 nautical miles, plenty for a full day of running between beaches and back to harbour.
She is built around a single idea: shelter that never looks like it is trying.
The straight, near vertical bow and signature Z shaped flank carry the Demon family’s language, sharpened here by a frameless windscreen that keeps the profile clean from bow to helm. A carbon fibre T top, weighing just 150 kilograms, shades the wheelhouse without adding bulk or height to the silhouette, its side air intakes doubling as a styling cue and a cooling path for the engines below. The wheelhouse itself sits central and adjustable, giving the helm more room and a better line of sight than a fixed, offset console would allow.
The deck changes shape through the day, and every change takes seconds.
A hinged carbon fibre sunroof opens the central lounge to the sky, its supports fitted with integrated speakers and adjustable LED lighting for when the day turns into evening. Forward, a four square metre teak table rises for lunch, lowers to seat cushion height for a sheltered sunbathing area, or stows away into the cockpit floor entirely when the space is needed for something else. Aft, a bar area and a generous swim platform turn the transom into the busiest part of the boat, the natural point of entry for swimming and the natural place for guests to gather once the anchor is down.
She keeps a genuine cabin below, even with so much of life lived on deck.
A lounge with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a cabin sit below the waterline, together sleeping four when the day stretches into an overnight stay. Day capacity runs to eight, a scale suited to a smaller group that wants the whole boat, deck and interior alike, rather than a crowd spread thin across it. It is a modest footprint by the standards of a 14 metre hull, but a deliberate one, favouring comfort for those aboard over sheer numbers.
At 13.9 metres, the 1414 Demon Air is the open air specialist in Frauscher’s Demon range.
She measures 3.9 metres across the beam and draws 1.2 metres, with a choice of Mercruiser or Volvo Penta power depending on an owner’s preference. Built by the Frauscher design team around the T top and convertible sunroof format, she trades a little of her sister model’s day capacity for a lighter hull and a sharper focus on open air living. For an owner drawn to the Cannes season crowd and the idea of a boat that shelters only when asked to, she makes a precise, considered case.
