Removing the flybridge was not a compromise. It was the point.
Without the extra structure and windage of an upper helm, the Coupe carries a lower, purer profile than her Fly sibling, and the saving in weight sharpens everything from acceleration to fuel burn. Forward, three long sun loungers face the bow with raised backrests and integrated armrests, while a broad bench at the squared off forepeak seats three more, giving the foredeck genuine social capacity rather than a token sunbathing pad. A long letter slot window built into the leading edge of the sunbed structure throws extra light into the cabin below, a small detail that speaks to how thoroughly the deck has been worked through. The result reads as deliberate rather than reduced, a boat that looks faster standing still.
Triple outboards do more here than add horsepower. They change what the hull can do.
Standard power comes from three 300hp engines, Yamaha’s F300 V6 units as the default with alternative outboard options available, giving her genuine triple redundancy alongside the performance. She reaches a low speed plane at around 16 knots and tops out close to 37, with fuel burn in the 20 to 30 knot band running to a range of 160 to 200 nautical miles, useful figures for an owner planning a genuine day’s cruising rather than a short hop. Noise at cruising speed sits in the 70 to 75 decibel range, quiet enough for conversation on deck. With the flybridge gone, the whole propulsion and structural package works towards efficiency and handling rather than sheer scale, a very different engineering brief to her larger flybridged sisters.
The cockpit is built to move, not just to sit in.
An L-shaped aft bench runs on sliding tracks, letting the seating shift forward to open the transom or aft to close the space in, and an asymmetrical layout gives one side a proper gate with a lift out backrest for easy boarding. Inside, a C-shaped galley sits to port with 144 litres of refrigeration split across two units, plenty for a genuine week aboard, while a forward C-shaped dinette benefits from deep side windows that keep the saloon bright even with the flybridge deck absent overhead. An optional roof rack adds equipment storage and space for solar panels, and a cockpit closing kit is available for owners who want to seal the space against the weather. Every zone on board earns her keep.
Three cabins, six berths, and a genuine ensuite forward: this is accommodation built for real use, not for the brochure.
The owner’s cabin sits in the bow, lit by four skylights ahead of the windscreen, with her own starboard ensuite complete with a separate shower and a further day heads to port for guests. Aft, one cabin offers twin berths convertible to a double with an infill, while the second keeps a fixed twin layout, giving owners flexibility between couples and children without reconfiguring the whole boat. The separation between the owner’s suite and the guest cabins is unusually clean for a boat under thirteen metres, and the absence of a flybridge staircase frees up headroom and layout below that a taller sister ship simply cannot offer.
An eight per cent saving over the flybridge model buys more than a lower profile.
Built by Jeanneau on the same platform as the Merry Fisher 1295 Fly, the Coupe carries a fuel capacity of around 1,150 litres and a 300 nautical mile range at cruising speed, figures that reward an owner who plans to actually use the boat rather than admire her at the dock. Triple 300hp outboards come as standard, with an alternative twin diesel sterndrive option available for owners who prefer that configuration. Day capacity for eight and sleeping accommodation for six make her equally suited to family cruising or entertaining at anchor. For a buyer weighing the two body styles side by side, the Coupe offers a compelling case: less deck, more boat.
