Range, not speed, is the point of her.
Twin MTU 12V 2000 engines, 1,700 horsepower apiece, settle her into an efficient 11 knot cruise, with 15.5 knots available when conditions or schedule demand it. The real figure that matters is the range: 4,500 nautical miles on 71,600 litres of fuel, enough to clear an ocean on one tank rather than planning a stop. That reach is the reason the Oceano 44 exists, a steel hull and aluminium superstructure built for distance rather than for the marina. Stabiliser fins and a displacement form keep her settled at both speeds, so the comfort below decks does not depend on staying close to shore.
Glass, wherever Overmarine could fit it.
Ghost bulwarks and glazed balustrades keep the tri-deck profile from reading as heavy. Forward, a glass walled pool sits sunk into the foredeck, its base doubling as a skylight for the suite below. Aft, fold-down panels expand the stern into a full width swim deck at anchor, with side opening sections that open the beach club further still. The sun deck above runs to around 100 square metres, half of it shaded by a hardtop, with a wet bar and outdoor furniture built to stay out through a season. Alberto Mancini’s exterior lines carry the glazing through three decks without the yacht ever feeling top heavy.
Two places to put the owner, and neither is a compromise.
The standard layout gives the owner a main deck suite spanning the full 8.7 metre beam, with a bathtub, separate shower, dressing area and a balcony that folds down to the sea. An alternative moves the owner up to the deck above instead, into a cabin glazed on three sides where the sky lounge would normally sit, with its own dressing area and en suite. Below, four further cabins split evenly between doubles and twins with Pullman berths, sleeping twelve across the yacht in total. Forward of the wheelhouse, a captain’s cabin, ship’s office, crew mess and laundry keep a crew of nine working without crossing paths with guests.
The dining room runs almost the full width of the yacht in glass.
Full height sliding doors wrap the amidships dining space, opening it to the side decks on both sides rather than one. The main salon keeps an open plan, with sofas and armchairs set against a Calacatta marble floor that runs unbroken from the entrance through to the aft doors. Below, the beach club carries the same teak lined theme, with its own bar and day head so guests need not go back upstairs between swims. Skylights set into the cockpit floor above throw daylight down into the beach club, tying the two spaces together even though a full deck separates them.
Built in Pisa by a yard with forty years behind the Mangusta name.
Overmarine has delivered more than 120 yachts over 30 metres from the same yard, and the Oceano 44 carries that experience into a 44.5 metre hull with an 8.7 metre beam and a 2.6 metre draught. Alberto Mancini drew the exterior, with Overmarine’s own engineering department behind the naval architecture and build. She can host 20 guests by day and sleep 12 across five cabins, with nine crew to run her properly on a long passage. A new build carries a price around 23 million euros, placing her against yachts several metres shorter once the range and the tri-deck layout are taken into account.
