Eleven knots at cruise carries her 4,500 nautical miles, the same reach as her smaller sister despite five more metres of hull.
Twin MTU 12V2000 M86 engines drive the Oceano 55 to a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots, figures that sit identical to the rest of the range by design rather than compromise. A 63,000 litre fuel capacity delivers that 4,500 nautical mile range, while her 2.7 metre draught keeps her access to anchorages close to that of yachts considerably smaller. At 500 tonnes displacement, she carries her length efficiently rather than heavily, a discipline that runs through every hull in the Oceano family and reaches its most refined expression here, at the largest end of the line.
Alberto Mancini called the concept stylistic dynamism, and across 55 metres that ambition finally has the length to breathe.
The design was first unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show as the opening statement of an entirely new Overmarine line, built in steel and aluminium rather than the composite construction of the yard’s faster boats. Long, uninterrupted glazing lets natural light run deep into the interior, while the exterior and interior spaces are drawn to connect rather than separate, sliding doors and matched sightlines carrying the eye straight through the hull. A 9.2 metre beam gives the silhouette enough width to stay level and horizontal across her full length, a proportion the smaller Oceano models share but which reads most convincingly at 55 metres.
Five cabins for twelve guests, and a crew of nine to run a yacht built for long distance living.
Overmarine’s own studio shaped the interior, continuing the family’s preference for calm materials and generous natural light over display for its own sake. The accommodation deck separates owner, guest and crew zones clearly, a layout consistent with every yacht in the Oceano range and one that matters more as length and guest numbers grow. Cabins are sized for comfort over a full season rather than a single charter week, and the crew of nine is proportioned to maintain that standard of service across extended time aboard. It is an interior built to be lived in rather than merely toured.
Daily life aboard the Oceano 55 runs across decks built for distance, not display.
A flybridge scaled to her full 55 metres gives guests space that smaller yachts in the range can only gesture toward, while the pool and lounging areas carried over from her sisters appear here at their most generous proportions. The connection between interior and exterior, central to Mancini’s original brief, plays out most clearly on the main deck, where sliding glass dissolves the boundary between saloon and open air. Side decks and stairwells are wide enough for genuine movement rather than single file passage, a detail that becomes more valuable the longer a season runs. She is built for weeks aboard, not a single weekend.
The largest hull in Overmarine’s displacement range, and the clearest statement of what the line was built to achieve.
Built by Overmarine, the Oceano 55 measures 55 metres in length on a 9.2 metre beam, with a 2.7 metre draught and a 500 tonne displacement. Twin MTU 12V2000 M86 engines and a 63,000 litre fuel capacity give her a 4,500 nautical mile range at 11 knots, matched to a crew of nine running accommodation for twelve guests across five cabins. She carries Overmarine’s full engineering and design pedigree, naval architecture, exterior and interior all developed in house, into the largest hull the yard has built in this line. For an owner who wants scale without surrendering the range and discretion that define the Oceano range, she is the most complete expression of it.
