Nautor Swan drew the 51 to fill the gap between the Swan 48 and the Swan 55, two boats that between them account for around seventy hulls now sailing. German Frers had that database and a decade of owner feedback to work from, and the clearest result is a rig moved further towards the centre of the boat, which settles the helm and makes the balance easier to hold on a long passage.
The character is deliberately not that of a soft, wide cruiser. Frers studio calls it a pure sailor, closer to a sportscar than a limousine: 15.55 metres of hull, 16.90 metres overall, 18 tonnes light against 6,300 kg of ballast, and a standard fin drawing 2.45 metres. A 2.05 metre shallow keel is offered for thinner cruising grounds. A Yanmar 4JH80 of 80 hp handles the motoring, with 650 litres of fuel behind it.
The deck is offered in a standard and an optional layout. Below, the boat is arranged over three cabins: the owner forward with private heads and shower, VIP and guest cabins aft sharing a second compartment, and a galley that follows the pattern proven on the 48 and 55. Misa Poggi offers four interior moods, Swan Soul, Scandi Vision, Blue Genoa and Velvet Vibe, so a buyer picks a character rather than a swatch.
For a buyer, this is the smallest boat in the current Swan cruising line and the entry point to the marque, with a list price a little over 1.7 million euros before tax and options. The first hulls were delivered in 2025, so the used market has yet to form.
