The 48’s silhouette starts with a single decision: raise the freeboard without losing the line.
A reverse sheer, unusual for Wally at the time, lifts the topsides and buys real internal volume without breaking the hull’s clean profile. Forward, a fine, knife edged bow cuts cleanly through a chop, while a moderate 17 degree deadrise aft keeps her settled at speed. The hull itself was drawn from scratch around pod drive propulsion rather than adapted from an older design, longer and wider than her predecessor in every dimension.
