SBK is a 21 metre Azimut 68 Fly delivered in 2024, and she carries two names worth knowing. Her interior is the work of Achille Salvagni, one of Italy’s most considered designers, and her exterior is drawn by Alberto Mancini, so a yacht of this size arrives with a level of authorship usually reserved for something much larger. She is the only Azimut 68 Fly on the Italian charter market, based in Sicily, which puts the Aeolian islands, the Egadi and the Sicilian coast within an easy week aboard.
She is built to move. A Carbon Tech hull keeps her light and stiff, so she planes quickly, cruises in the mid twenties and reaches into the low thirties when asked, yet stays level and quiet enough for the group to talk on the flybridge underway. For a couple or a family who want to cover ground between islands and still anchor somewhere quiet by early afternoon, that turn of speed is the point of her, and her stabilisers hold her steady both under way and at rest.
Inside, Salvagni’s hand shows in restraint rather than decoration. The main salon is bright and contemporary, pale sofas and soft tones lit by wide glazing down both sides, a slatted timber divider marking the living area from the helm without closing the room in. A relaxed dining area sits forward in the same space, and the galley behind is fitted to the same standard, a sign of how completely she was prepared for charter rather than private use.
Eight guests sleep in four cabins below. The full beam master sits low in the hull with a long window and a porthole that bring the water close, the VIP takes the bow under an overhead hatch, and two twin cabins complete the run, each finished in the same calm palette with its own bathroom. The layout suits two couples with children, or four friends sharing, with the master and VIP giving the two lead cabins real comfort and privacy from the rest.
Outside is where an Azimut of this generation earns its keep. The flybridge is large for her length, an open deck of sun pads, seating and a dining table under a hardtop with the helm forward, the place the group gathers from breakfast to sunset. The bow carries a convertible lounge that turns from sofa to sunbed, and the aft cockpit sits level with the sea for meals in the shade. A Pirelli tender, a pair of Seabobs, a paddle board and snorkelling gear come with her for the days spent in the water.
Her home water is Sicily, and she is well matched to it. From a base on the island she reaches the Aeolian volcanoes, the quiet Egadi and the long Sicilian coast, short runs made easy by her speed, and the towns come alive after dark for dinner ashore. With designer interiors, a genuine turn of pace and a crew of three, SBK offers a level of design and performance rare in a charter yacht of twenty metres, at a price that keeps a week aboard comfortably within reach.
