S/Y Aphaea is a Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67, a modern sailing catamaran launched in 2023 that brings together generous living space and genuine performance under sail. Named after the goddess Aphaia, she carries ten guests in five cabins with a crew of three, and she is based in Greece, where she cruises the Aegean and Ionian seas through the summer. Her wide beam and shallow draft make her easy to live aboard and quick to reach the sort of clear, sheltered anchorages that define a Greek island charter.
The flybridge is the natural centre of life on board. A large shaded lounge and an open ocean-view terrace give guests room to spread out, whether that means sunbathing through the afternoon or watching the coast slide past under sail. Forward, the foredeck carries plush seating and sunpads over the trampolines, while the aft cockpit sits level with the saloon and makes an easy, sociable spot for alfresco dining just steps from the galley.
Inside, Aphaea is bright, airy and contemporary. The main deck runs as one open room, with a comfortable saloon lounge, a dining table and, in a galley-up layout, an island galley where guests can watch the chef at work while the yacht is under way. Large windows wrap the space and keep it full of light and sea views, and the pale, modern joinery gives the whole level a calm, uncluttered feel.
Below, she sleeps ten across five cabins, each with its own bathroom. The owner suite is the most generous, with a double bed, a private bathroom and hull windows that bring the sea right into the room, while four further cabins are laid out with queen beds and finished to the same modern standard. Each has good natural light, quiet contemporary detailing and plenty of stowage, so a full party of ten can settle in comfortably.
Under sail she is rewarding and easy to handle for a catamaran of her size, stable enough for a comfortable passage and lively enough to enjoy when the breeze fills in. When the wind drops the engines take over, and the bathing platform at the stern drops close to the water for swimming, boarding the tender or launching the collection of water toys.
That toy locker is well stocked, with a Highfield tender, a pair of Seabobs, paddleboards, a kayak, waterskis, a wakeboard, a towable and full snorkelling and fishing gear, along with board games for quieter afternoons. Combined with her shallow draft and island range, it makes Aphaea a natural fit for an active week among the Cyclades and the Ionian, moving from a morning swim to a lively harbour town for dinner ashore.
A crew of three, a captain, a chef and a hostess, looks after the sailing, the cooking and the service throughout. Light, spacious and easy to live with, S/Y Aphaea offers the room of a large catamaran and the pace of a proper sailing yacht for a family or a group of friends exploring the Greek islands.
