ALFA NERO is an 82-metre motor yacht built by the renowned Dutch shipyard Oceanco and delivered in 2007, one of the most iconic and influential superyachts ever created and comprehensively refitted in 2024 to present her in her strongest condition since delivery. Designed by the celebrated studio Nuvolari Lenard with a refined interior by the late Alberto Pinto, she arrived at a time when the yachting world had seen nothing like her, her dramatic black steel hull, sweeping white superstructure and low, stretched profile breaking the mould of conventional superyacht design and setting a new standard that influenced a generation of yachts to follow. Nearly two decades on she still looks thoroughly modern, a genuine icon that won every major industry prize in 2008, including Best Interior Design and Best Exterior Styling at the World Superyacht Awards. Her single most defining feature is her revolutionary aft deck, home to the first ever statement swimming pool on a superyacht. This infinity pool with glass waterfall siding can be raised at the push of a button to transform the aft deck into a vast entertaining space or a certified helipad, a single design moment that changed the industry forever, while a complete bar, sun pads and chaise longues on bleached teak complete one of the most celebrated outdoor spaces afloat. Across four decks she offers around 1,250 square metres of living space, including three separate dining areas, a bridge-deck gym, a beauty and hairdressing salon, a spa, a night club and dance room, a beach club and a glass lift that connects every deck, its staircase wrapping elegantly around the glazed shaft. Alberto Pinto’s interior blends palatial elegance with playful pop art, the full-beam upper saloon grand and formal, the main-deck saloon lighter and contemporary. Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests in six sumptuous suites. The vast master suite occupies the entire forward section of the upper deck, a private, self-contained world with panoramic views, a private study and dressing room, and exclusive access to a secluded private deck complete with its own spa pool. The remaining suites, comprising two VIPs and further double and twin cabins, are each individually styled with private en-suite facilities and seating areas, positioned for comfort and ease of movement throughout the yacht. A professional crew of around 26 delivers flawless, discreet service. Powered by twin MTU engines, ALFA NERO cruises comfortably at 14 to 17 knots with a top speed of some 20 knots and a range of 5,500 nautical miles, well suited to both relaxed Mediterranean cruising and longer ocean passages. Cruising the East and West Mediterranean in summer and the Caribbean in winter, she offers charter guests the rare chance to experience a true icon of modern yacht design, a yacht whose innovations reshaped the industry and whose style, space and sense of occasion remain utterly compelling to this day. Originally commissioned by a Greek shipping magnate and the subject of one of yachting’s most talked-about recent sales, ALFA NERO carries a genuine sense of history and glamour that few yachts can match. Available for charter through Cecil Wright and Partners, she is offered at rates from EUR 812,500 per week plus expenses.
