HYPERION is a truly extraordinary and multi-award-winning 47.4-metre sailing sloop built by the world-renowned Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman and delivered in 1998, a legendary presence on the water that combines the very highest luxury with exceptional sailing credentials. A highly innovative yacht from the outset, she was launched with what was then the tallest single rig ever erected, a 59-metre carbon-fibre mast carrying some 13,000 square feet of sail, and pioneered groundbreaking onboard computer systems controlling everything from navigation to mood lighting. Her naval architecture is by the celebrated German Frers, giving her a generous beam, ample deck space and outstanding performance, while her spectacular interior and exterior are the work of Pieter Beeldsnijder Design. She has been immaculately maintained and kept at the cutting edge through a bow-to-stern refit in 2015, a new suit of North Sails in 2016 and a further comprehensive refit in 2023 that renewed her teak decks, exterior paint and machinery, and she now carries Starlink connectivity. Built on a full-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure with teak decks and a carbon dagger board, she is a genuine thoroughbred, reaching a top speed of around 15 to 16 knots, and her crew have competed in and won some of the world’s most prestigious superyacht regattas, from the New Zealand Millennium Cup to the St Barth’s Bucket and the Superyacht Cup in Palma. Her interior, which won awards for Best Interiors on launch, is simply spectacular, with warm mahogany panels and inlaid marquetry, exquisite Moroccan marbles and the finest custom fittings creating an atmosphere of timeless elegance and quality. A highlight is her unusual two-level main saloon, which houses a piano and a formal dining area, complemented by a versatile pilothouse that can be opened while under sail, three interior lounge areas, a large-screen entertainment system and a temperature-controlled cellar for some 200 bottles of wine. Life on deck is exceptional, with luscious teak decking throughout. The aft deck offers a covered seating area, dual helm stations and an alfresco dining option under a removable bimini, while the expansive, flush foredeck transforms into a versatile lounge with sunbeds, perfect for yoga or sunset cocktails, and an extended swim platform gives easy access to the water and her e-foils, Seabobs and toys. Accommodation is arranged for up to 6 guests in three beautifully appointed en-suite cabins, all located aft. The full-beam master suite is a private retreat with a king-size bed, a relaxation and study area and an opulent marble en-suite with a deluxe tub, while a starboard VIP cabin with a queen-size bed and a port twin cabin, each with an en-suite and private entertainment, complete comfortable, elegant accommodation.
