Corsica & Sardinia: Calvi to Porto Rotondo Charter Itinerary

Corsica & Sardinia: Calvi to Porto Rotondo Itinerary

Corsica & Sardinia: Calvi to Porto Rotondo Yacht Charter
Two islands, one wild and one glamorous, joined by a short and beautiful crossing. This seven-day route runs down the west coast of Corsica from the citadel town of Calvi to the cliffs of Bonifacio, then crosses the Strait to Sardinia’s Costa Smeralda and its emerald anchorages. It pairs raw mountain-backed coastline and Napoleonic history with pink-sand beaches and the Mediterranean’s most stylish harbours, the rugged and the refined in a single week.

Every route we shape is a starting point, not a fixed schedule. Stay a second day where the light is right, move with the weather, or follow a captain to a quieter cove. What follows is one considered way to read it; the rest we tailor to you.
Day 1

Calvi

Step aboard in Calvi, set between snow-capped peaks and a long golden bay. Its Genoese citadel stands above the town like a time capsule, and below, cafes line the quay. Explore the old walls, then sail out for a first swim as the light turns on the mountains.

Day 2

Ajaccio

Sail south, pausing to anchor in the Gulf of Sagone for a swim and lunch on deck, before reaching Ajaccio. The Corsican capital and birthplace of Napoleon rewards a wander, imperial history, a good market, an easy waterfront, before an evening back aboard.
Day 3

Bonifacio

Cruise to the island’s southern tip and the extraordinary approach to Bonifacio, a medieval town clinging to white limestone cliffs above a narrow, fjord-like harbour. Climb through the citadel streets to the ramparts, then look back at the yacht far below.

Day 4

La Maddalena

Cross the Bocche di Bonifacio to Sardinia and into the Maddalena Archipelago, a protected park of emerald water, pink-tinged sand and uninhabited islets. Anchor off a granite cove, snorkel the clear shallows, and spend the day in a national park reachable only by sea.

Day 5

Porto Cervo

Sail to Porto Cervo, the beating heart of the Costa Smeralda and one of the Mediterranean’s most stylish harbours. Berth among remarkable yachts, browse the piazzetta’s boutiques, then anchor off a nearby beach of soft white sand for the afternoon.

Cala di Volpe

Wind down in the sheltered bay of Cala di Volpe, ringed by low granite hills and fragrant pines. Anchor in the turquoise water, tender ashore for a legendary poolside lunch, and give the day to swimming and the yacht’s toys.
