Coron Superyacht Charter

Coron is one of the most spectacular and dramatic destinations in the Philippines, a stunning seascape of jagged limestone cliffs, crystal-clear lakes and hidden lagoons in the Calamian Islands of northern Palawan. Combining breathtaking scenery with some of the finest wreck diving in the world, it offers an unforgettable and richly rewarding cruising ground.

The area is celebrated for its extraordinary beauty, above all the jewel-like Kayangan Lake and the vivid Twin Lagoon, enclosed by towering limestone cliffs and reached through hidden channels. Barracuda Lake, with its remarkable thermoclines, and countless secret coves and white-sand beaches complete a landscape of surreal and dramatic beauty.

Coron is also world-renowned among divers for its fleet of Japanese WWII shipwrecks, lying beneath the clear water and now cloaked in coral and teeming with marine life. Vibrant reefs, clear lagoons and deserted islands offer superb swimming, snorkelling and diving throughout.

Ashore, the region offers fresh seafood, warm hospitality and a relaxed island atmosphere. Its dramatic beauty is exceptional.

With its limestone cliffs, crystal lakes and legendary wrecks, Coron is a spectacular Palawan gem. Guests can swim in hidden lagoons, dive historic shipwrecks and cruise among dramatic karst islands in one of the most beautiful corners of the Philippines.

Coron Charter Guide

Everything you need to know before chartering a yacht in Coron, from the best time to visit to where to drop anchor.
What's the best time of year to charter around Coron?

December through May brings the calmest seas and clearest underwater visibility for wreck diving and swimming in the lakes. The southwest monsoon from June to October raises swell and can cloud the water, particularly around the more exposed western wrecks, though sheltered spots like Twin Lagoon remain calm. April and May tend to be hottest, so many charters favour the cooler months from December to February.

How do we get to Coron for a yacht charter?

Busuanga’s Francisco B. Reyes Airport (USU), around forty minutes by road or tender transfer from Coron town, has direct flights from Manila in roughly an hour. Guests combining Coron with El Nido often travel between the two by fast ferry, a crossing of three to four hours across open water. Charters can also embark directly in Coron town, where a small marina and tender landing serve visiting yachts.

Which anchorages give the best access to Coron's lakes and wrecks?

Coron Bay itself, close to Coron Island, puts Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake all within a short tender ride. Banol Beach and Malcapuya Island, further south, suit swimming and snorkelling away from the day-boat crowds. Most of the named WWII wrecks lie scattered across the bay’s northern half, so an anchorage near Lusong or Tangat islands shortens the run out to the dive sites.

How many days do we need to see Coron properly?

Four to five nights covers the highlights at an easy pace: a day for the lakes and lagoons, a day or two of wreck diving, and time in hand for the outer beaches and Calauit Safari Park. Guests combining Coron with El Nido or the wider Palawan coast typically extend to seven to ten nights to include the longer crossing north.

Why do some sites in Coron charge a separate entrance fee?

Coron Island, including Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake, is recognised ancestral domain of the Tagbanua people under a formal land title, and the community manages access and fees for these sites independently of the general Coron Bay environmental charge. A broker or local agent typically bundles these fees into the day’s planning, but it is worth confirming which sites are included before setting out.
