About FORTUNA

FORTUNA is what happens when a yard commissions the right people and then gets out of the way.

The exterior is Espen Oeino’s, and it shows in the way she carries her volume: 47.5 metres, 494 gross tonnes, and a profile that stays slim because the sheer is unbroken and the superstructure steps back rather than piling up. Full displacement, GRP hull and superstructure, twin Caterpillar C32s, 3,000 nautical miles of range at an 11-knot cruise and 17 knots when it is needed. She was delivered in 2023 and she still looks like a yacht drawn last year.

Inside, Art-Bel Design took a different line to the exterior’s restraint. The main saloon is calm – facing sofas in cream, glass and steel tables, art books, blue accents – but move forward and the yacht starts to have opinions. The dining room is anchored by a large blue relief work that fills a whole bulkhead behind a round table for ten. Up on the bridge deck, the upper saloon is wrapped in a curved mirrored ceiling with a brass ring detail that reflects the sea back into the room, sofas built into the curve and a bar tucked behind. It should be too much and it is not; it is the room people photograph.

The layout is built around ten guests in five cabins, which is generous rather than efficient, and the yacht is better for it. The owner’s suite runs the full beam of the upper deck with the bed against a padded grey wall, a seating group in the corner, a dressing area and a marble bathroom with twin basins and a backlit oval mirror. Four guest cabins sit below in the same palette of grey oak, cream leather and warm concealed lighting – two doubles, a twin, and a fifth that converts.

Her outside is where she earns the rate. The sundeck carries a spa lit from within, set under an open hardtop with a raised sun lounge forward and a bar aft; at dusk it is the best seat on the yacht. The main aft deck holds a large lounging setting under the overhang with a dining table on the deck above. And the transom folds down into a beach club that opens on three sides at the waterline, with a gym directly behind it – a proper one, with a full rack of free weights, cardio machines and a mirrored wall.

Three tenders come with her, including a 13.2-metre Venom chase boat that is a serious vessel in its own right, plus jet skis, paddleboards, waterskis and wakeboards, and an inflatable platform that gets rigged off the swim deck.

Nine crew run her for a maximum of ten guests. She works Greece and Turkey – Corfu and the Ionian in early summer, the Cyclades and the Dodecanese in high season, and the Turkish coast around Kas as the year turns. Rates run from 260,000 per week in low season to 290,000 in high.

She is a young yacht with a serious design pedigree, an unusually low guest count for her volume, and the range to use it properly. That combination does not come up often at this size.
