Perini Navi invented the large sailing superyacht. Before the yard opened in Viareggio in 1983, nobody built sailing yachts at fifty metres with the systems and finish of a motor yacht, and the captive winch technology Perini developed made it possible to sail these hulls with a crew of ten rather than thirty. Four Perini Navis charter in this band, all sailing yachts, all five cabins.
Perseus is the oldest at 1998, a ketch of forty nine metres with ten guests and a layout that prioritises sailing performance. Jasali II followed at fifty three metres, also ten guests. Parsifal III, launched in 2005, is the best known of the group and takes twelve guests with a hydraulic swim platform and a jacuzzi. Baracuda Valletta, delivered in 2009, brings the most recent build at fifty metres.
Weekly rates range from one hundred and eighty five thousand euros for Perseus to two hundred and forty five thousand for Parsifal III. Jasali II asks one hundred and ninety five thousand and Baracuda Valletta two hundred and ten thousand. Add roughly thirty percent for the advance provisioning allowance. Fuel costs are lower than a motor yacht, keeping the total closer to the headline rate.
These yachts sail the Mediterranean in summer, with the Amalfi Coast, Sardinia and the Greek islands on the circuit. Several cross to the Caribbean for winter, where the trade winds make for exceptional sailing. Contact us with your dates and we will check availability.
