About LA LUNA

The Circus Lounge is where LA LUNA makes her case. Set forward of the bridge and wrapped in windows on every side, this glass-walled saloon with its own bar and dining for ten is a room found on almost no other yacht afloat, a panoramic perch that turns morning coffee, afternoon reading and evening cocktails into something closer to theatre. It is the signature of a Perini Navi that has aged into a genuine modern classic.

Launched in 1997 and refitted in 2017, LA LUNA is a 53.2-metre sailing yacht from the Italian yard that defined the cruising superyacht under sail. Her steel hull, aluminium superstructure and teak decks carry the hallmarks of the era, substance, sea-kindliness, range, while the refit brought systems and finishes into the present. She sleeps ten guests across five staterooms, supported by a crew of eleven.

Life aboard moves at the pace sailing sets. The movement is quieter than a motor yacht’s, the connection to the water more immediate, and the days unfold between open decks, long lunches and evenings under soft light. Twin Deutz engines and a full sailing rig give her a top speed of 13 knots and a comfortable 11-knot cruise, with a 4,000-nautical-mile range that opens up genuine passage-making rather than short hops between marinas.

Below, the interior favours warmth over statement. Natural light reaches deep into the living spaces, and the material palette, timber, linen, considered detailing, creates a relaxed atmosphere throughout. The full-beam master suite enjoys private balcony access and the volume that a 53-metre hull allows. Two double and two twin guest cabins follow the same restrained design language, each drawing in daylight and framing the sea.

The living spaces reward guests who like to spread out. Beyond the Circus Lounge, a flexible snug on the main deck adapts as a lounge, office or reading room, while a full-beam salon on the lower deck offers a cooler, more private gathering point. Outside, open deck areas run fore and aft with adjustable shading, and a swim platform brings the group down to sea level for water-level dining and easy access to the water.

Her toy inventory suits a yacht built for extended cruising rather than high-speed thrills: Seabobs, paddleboards, kayaks, windsurfers, wakeboards and inflatables deploy from the platform, encouraging the kind of slow exploration, a quiet bay, a swim, a paddle along the coast, that plays to her strengths.

LA LUNA cruises the Western Mediterranean, with the South of France, the Italian coast and the Balearics as her natural territory. She is a yacht for guests who value the sailing experience itself, the heel of the deck, the quiet under way, the sense of a passage genuinely made, wrapped in the comfort and provenance of one of the most respected names in sailing.

The rig is set up to be sailed actively or handed to the crew, so guests can take the wheel on a steady reach or simply watch the coastline slide past. Either way, the experience is unmistakably that of a yacht under sail rather than a hotel that happens to float.

At 175,000 euros per week, she offers something a modern build cannot manufacture: the character of a Perini Navi that has spent nearly three decades at sea, kept current and ready for the next horizon.
