Five cabins at forty metres is the layout most charter groups actually want. It sleeps ten in real comfort and twelve when a pullman is made up, which covers almost every group that charters, and it does so without the running costs a sixth cabin brings. At around one hundred and thirty one feet the accommodation is the argument rather than the deck space.
Sixty one yachts run this configuration. Benetti alone accounts for ten, with Feadship, Sunseeker, Heesen and Custom Line behind. The standard arrangement is a full beam master on the main deck, two doubles and two twins below, and the twins convert for children. Twenty six carry a beach club and fifteen have a pool, so the aft end of these yachts has changed considerably.
Weekly rates run from twenty five thousand euros to three hundred thousand, with the median close to one hundred and forty five thousand and most of the fleet between one hundred and fifteen and one hundred and eighty five thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of around thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. A refit moves the number more than a metre of length does.
Five cabins and forty metres travel almost anywhere. The Riviera and the Balearics work as day hops, the Amalfi coast and the Aeolian islands sit within a week from Naples, and Greek harbours rarely ask more than a morning between stops.
