Alloy Yachts built aluminium sailing superyachts at Auckland from 1968 until the yard closed in 2016, and the boats it left behind remain among the most admired performance cruisers afloat. New Zealand racing culture is written into them, in rigs that are meant to be used, in displacement kept honest, and in engineering that assumes the owner will actually cross an ocean.
Our Alloy charter fleet spans thirty six metres to sixty seven. Genevieve and Miss Silver, both thirty six metres, take eight and nine guests in four cabins and are among the better value sailing charters in the Mediterranean. Q at fifty one, Favourite Child at fifty one point seven, Drumbeat at fifty three and Kokomo at fifty eight are full size sailing yachts, several with lifting keels that open anchorages a fixed keel cannot reach. Vertigo, sixty seven metres and ketch rigged, is a yacht people charter specifically in order to sail.
Weekly rates run from seventy five thousand euros for Genevieve to three hundred and sixty thousand for Vertigo, with the fifty metre group agreed between one hundred and fifty five and two hundred and forty thousand. An advance provisioning allowance near thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks, and a sailing yacht tends to spend less of it.
