Curacao anchors the ABC Islands with a capital that feels genuinely European and a coastline that rewards exploration from the water far more than from a hire car. Willemstad’s UNESCO-listed waterfront, its swing bridge and the Handelskade merchants’ houses reflected in the Sint Annabaai channel, is best arrived at by yacht, motoring in through the narrow entrance to anchor within sight of the city’s colourful facades.
