Heesen is a Dutch yard known for aluminium hulls, high top speeds and refined engineering. Five yachts between forty one and forty four metres sit in the charter fleet, built within a seven year window and carrying the yard’s signature semi displacement hull form. These motor yachts reach twenty plus knots when you want to cover ground and still run quietly at cruising speed.
Benik, at forty one metres and built in 2002, is the smallest and the entry point at one hundred and twenty five thousand euros a week. She carries a gym, a jacuzzi and a bow lounge that Heesen refined on later hulls. Agram and Kijo, both forty four metres and launched within a year of each other, charter at one hundred and fifty five and one hundred and sixty thousand respectively. Jems, also forty four metres and the most recent at 2009, matches Kijo’s rate. Bliss tops the fleet at forty four point two metres and one hundred and seventy five thousand, carrying a gym, a cinema and a sauna.
Weekly rates run from one hundred and twenty five to one hundred and seventy five thousand euros, with the median at one hundred and sixty thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Fuel economy on a semi displacement hull at cruising speed runs noticeably lower than on a comparable planing yacht.
