Lefkada has become one of the most popular family charter destinations in Greece, and for good reason. The Ionian Sea is calmer than the Aegean through most of the summer, the anchorages in the Lefkada Channel and around Meganisi are well-protected and suitable for children of all ages, and the island itself has enough infrastructure, shops, restaurants, beaches, to make provisioning and logistics straightforward. Family-configured yachts in Lefkada include catamarans with wide trampolines and two separate hulls that create natural space for different age groups, large motor yachts with multiple deck levels, and family-oriented monohulls with crews experienced in managing younger guests. All carry basic watersports equipment, snorkelling gear, inflatables and often a jet ski, included in the charter fee. Some vessels operate with a dedicated children’s crew member on request.
Weekly charter rates for family yachts in the Lefkada area run from around 12,000 euros to over 180,000 euros. The advance provisioning allowance of 25 to 30 percent covers food with full flexibility for children’s dietary requirements, fuel, berthing and watersports consumables. July and August are peak months; June and September offer the same weather with reduced rates and better marina availability.
