December through March brings the most comfortable daytime temperatures, generally in the mid-twenties, with April to May and October to November as reasonable shoulder months. Summer temperatures in Ras Al Khaimah climb even higher than in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, so most guests avoid chartering here between June and September.
Ras Al Khaimah International Airport (RKT) serves the emirate directly. Many guests also fly into Dubai (DXB), which has considerably more international connections, and drive up the coast, a trip that takes roughly an hour depending on traffic and border checkpoints between emirates. Both airports work well depending on your onward travel plans, and most charter brokers can advise which makes more sense for a given itinerary.
Al Hamra Marina works well as a base for its facilities, with the Marjan Island anchorage available for larger yachts that don’t fit inside the marina itself, and a stop in the calmer waters of Mina Al Arab worth adding for a quieter night. Guests spending several days here often alternate between the two.
Most guests build three to five days around Ras Al Khaimah, enough to pair the coast with a day in the mountains without feeling rushed. Shorter overnight trips also work well for guests based in Dubai looking for a change of scenery without committing to a full week away.
Its mountains. Guests can be anchored at sea level in the morning and, within under an hour’s drive, riding the Jebel Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline, off a peak nearly 1,700 metres up, a sea-to-summit combination the other emirates simply can’t match. The contrast between the coastline and the mountains is part of what makes Ras Al Khaimah worth a dedicated stop rather than a day trip from Dubai.
