AFRICA I is a 47-metre motor yacht built by Benetti and delivered in 2010 as the first example of the yard’s 47-metre all-aluminium semi-displacement series. Designed externally by Stefano Natucci and internally by Francois Zuretti, with a refresh by Zuretti in 2019 and a further update in 2022, she has consistently been one of the most popular yachts in the Eastern Mediterranean charter market, attracting a loyal following of guests including high-profile celebrities and football stars.
Zuretti’s refreshed interior has a modern, inviting feel with natural light, funky furnishings and vibrant colours that feel contemporary rather than dated, a remarkable feat for a yacht built in 2010. A children’s twin cabin on the lower deck makes AFRICA I particularly well-suited to family charters, and her crew of 12, large for a 47-metre yacht, means there is genuine depth of talent on board for cooking, service and water sports.
The master suite on the main deck has its own private terrace, while the VIP cabin sits on the upper deck with impressive views. The sundeck carries a Jacuzzi and yoga space, and the extended swim platform gives easy water access. Charter rates on enquiry.
The main deck aft of Africa I is the primary outdoor social space: a covered area with comfortable built-in seating, a dining table and a natural connection to the swim platform. Whether for casual lunches or formal dinners under the stars, this deck delivers atmosphere and practicality in equal measure.
The main salon of Africa I is the centrepiece of the interior: a generous open-plan living and dining area that uses carefully chosen materials, furniture and lighting to create a space that feels both refined and genuinely comfortable. Large windows ensure natural light throughout the day, and the flow between the salon and the aft deck makes indoor-outdoor living effortless for every guest.
The master suite of Africa I occupies the best position on the yacht for privacy and natural light. A king-sized bed, ample storage, sitting area, private terrace or balcony, his-and-hers dressing facilities and a premium stone en-suite bathroom with both shower and bath create a private retreat comparable to the finest suite in any five-star hotel.
The sun deck of Africa I is the highest and most panoramic outdoor space on board: a Jacuzzi, sun pads, comfortable loungers and a bar create an environment where guests naturally gather as the afternoon light changes. Views are unobstructed in every direction.
The sky lounge of Africa I is the social nerve-centre above the main salon: a versatile space with plush sofas, a bar and entertainment system that transitions between a relaxed daytime lounge and a lively evening gathering spot. Its panoramic windows make it equally popular for morning coffee and pre-dinner cocktails.
The 6 staterooms of Africa I accommodate 12 guests overnight in surroundings that match the quality of the master suite in materials and detail. Several cabins convert between double and twin configuration, and all are equipped with en-suite bathroom, ample storage, individual climate control and full entertainment systems.
The swim platform and transom of Africa I give safe, direct sea access for all water sport activities. A full toy collection, jet ski, paddleboards, snorkelling and inflatable toys, is available throughout the charter.
