HONEYBIRD answers a question most charter groups eventually ask: can a sailing yacht offer the space, stability and comfort of a motor yacht without giving up the romance of being under sail. Built by Sunreef in 2019, she is a 24 metre sailing catamaran whose twin hulls carry an enormous amount of living space across a beam of more than eleven metres. The result is a yacht that feels far larger than her length suggests, with wide, level decks, generous interior volume and the quiet, upright motion that only a catamaran delivers. For families and groups who want to sail the Adriatic in genuine comfort, she is a considered and modern choice.
Life aboard is organised around the sea. The aft deck opens straight off the main salon through full height glass, blurring the line between inside and out, and sets up for long lunches shaded from the sun or dinners that run late into the evening. Forward of the mast, the trampolines and foredeck seating give guests a place to lie back and watch the bow lift through the swell. One deck up, the flybridge is the social heart of the yacht: a bar, sun pads and clear views over the rig, the natural gathering point as the anchorage settles. A broad hydraulic swim platform at the stern brings the water within easy reach, and the tender and a full locker of toys are ready whenever the group wants to be in the sea rather than beside it.
Inside, the mood is calm and contemporary. The main salon is finished in pale timber and soft neutral tones, with a lounge and a separate dining area that both look out over the water through wraparound windows. It is bright, uncluttered and easy to move through, a space designed for a group to spread out rather than crowd together. A well equipped galley supports a crew of four, who run the sailing, the service and the watersports so guests are left only with the pleasure of the trip.
Accommodation is arranged across three generous cabins sleeping up to six guests. The full beam master suite makes the most of the catamaran platform, with a double bed, its own seating and an ensuite finished in marble and natural light. A VIP suite and a further guest cabin, each with its own ensuite, complete a layout that suits a family or two couples travelling together. Every cabin sits low and central between the hulls, where the motion is gentlest and the nights are quietest.
Under power from her twin John Deere engines, with a large fuel and water capacity, HONEYBIRD is built for extended cruising rather than short hops. She spends her summers among the islands of Croatia and the wider eastern Mediterranean, where the sheltered water and short passages between anchorages play directly to a catamaran’s strengths. The shallow draft of the twin hulls lets her tuck into bays a deeper monohull has to pass by, and the stability means meals and sleep carry on undisturbed even when the afternoon breeze gets up. For a group that wants to sail, swim and live outside without compromise, she offers a rare combination of volume, stability and ease, and a very natural way to experience this coast.
