About SCORPIOS

Two masts and a jet-black hull give Scorpios away from a mile out. Launched in 2023 by Tramontana Yachts, a builder still small enough that every hull is close to bespoke, she reads as a genuine modern schooner rather than a motor yacht with sails bolted on — and the interior, once you step below, commits to that modernity just as fully as the rig does above deck.

The main salon runs open-plan and bright: pale wood, white upholstery and navy accents under real daylight from a run of oversized windows, with a dining table that seats the full charter party without needing to borrow space from the lounge next to it. Nothing about the room reads as a compromise between sailing practicality and interior ambition — it simply commits to both.

Six cabins, each convertible between double and twin, run to a matching standard rather than a hierarchy of afterthoughts. Marble bathrooms in swirled grey stone, brass fittings and navy soft furnishings repeat cabin to cabin, so which stateroom a guest ends up in matters less than it would on a yacht where the owner’s suite absorbs most of the design budget. A separate, larger suite still leads the layout, with its own seating area and a bathroom finished in the same dark marble carried through in scale rather than character.

On deck, the foredeck jacuzzi sits beneath the standing rigging with a clear run back to the cockpit, while the sundeck adds a treadmill and rowing machine in the open air — exercise with a view of the coastline rather than a gym wall. Aft, a shaded dining table under the boom seats the full party for dinner without needing the salon at all, and the swim platform launches jet skis, paddleboards and an e-foil directly onto the water Scorpios is usually anchored in: sheltered Croatian coves as much as open Adriatic crossings.

Crew service leans into the yacht’s own character: a chef built for exactly this kind of intimate, six-cabin charter rather than a volume operation, and an RYA-qualified team able to put sailing guests to work on the rig itself rather than simply carrying them. Basic fishing gear and snorkelling kit for six round out a toy list built for calm-water days between anchorages rather than open-ocean adventure.

The exterior spaces are arranged to work with the rig rather than around it. Cushioned lounging wraps the foredeck jacuzzi rather than competing with the sail-handling gear that surrounds it, and sightlines from the cockpit run clean back along the deck to the stern rather than being broken up by superstructure the way they would be on a motor yacht this length. Underway, the two masts do more than furnish a silhouette — Scorpios sails as readily as she motors, a distinction that separates her from the growing number of sail-assisted yachts built primarily to look the part at anchor.

Scorpios charters the eastern Mediterranean and the Adriatic year-round, based out of Split and rarely straying far from the islands that make that coastline what it is. For a charter party drawn to sail rather than horsepower, and to a genuinely current design rather than a classic silhouette, she is one of very few yachts in the water built quite this recently to this specification.
