About TEMPTATION

TEMPTATION is what happens when a shipyard known for speed hands the drawing to Nuvolari Lenard. Palmer Johnson delivered her in 2005 as a 37.49-metre sport yacht, and two decades on the profile still looks current: a long, low, dark hull, a raked deckhouse and almost no wasted volume above the sheer. A 2023 refit brought the interior up to date without touching what makes her distinctive.

What sets her apart at this size is her accommodation plan. Most 37-metre yachts give you one full-beam cabin. TEMPTATION gives you two. The master occupies the full width of the main deck forward, with a king berth, a writing desk under the window line and a mirrored deckhead panel that lifts an already generous room. Below, a second full-beam suite runs across the hull as the VIP, and two further guest cabins complete a layout for eight. Every cabin is finished in the same high-gloss cherry joinery, with Brazilian walnut underfoot throughout.

Her main deck is a single connected volume. A cream sectional gathers around a low table at the aft end, glass doors open straight onto the shaded deck behind, and forward of the seating the formal dining table sits beneath a cascading glass chandelier. The joinery is deep and warm and the window line is wide, so the room reads as a proper saloon rather than a corridor with furniture in it.

Outside is where she earns her charter reputation. The aft deck carries a teak dining table under a fixed overhead, and unusually for a yacht of her generation the space is screened and air-conditioned, which in the Bahamas in August is not a gimmick. Up top, a solid hardtop shelters the sundeck: a jacuzzi forward with a circular sunpad beside it, and under the hardtop a curved bar with stools, sunbeds and a second dining table. It is a private deck in the real sense, out of sight from the dock and shaded for most of the day.

She runs a serious toy programme, and it leans towards fishing. Her 32-foot Edgewater centre console carries twin 300hp outboards, a T-top, outriggers and a dayhead, and the yacht stocks casting poles and complete gear for deep-sea, big-game and spearfishing. Alongside it sit two Yamaha WaveRunners, a SeaBob, a Flightboard, a Jet Surfer, two clear-bottom kayaks, two Bote paddleboards, wakeboards, adult and child water skis, a towable tube and snorkelling gear.

She cruises at 14 knots with a maximum of 19, and a crew of five runs her, several of whom have been aboard for years. That continuity shows in how she charters. Her season does not really end: she works the Bahamas and the United States east coast through the year rather than crossing to the Mediterranean, which makes her one of the more available options in her size bracket on that side of the Atlantic.

Her 272 gross tonnes sit on a composite hull and superstructure with MTU power below, a combination that keeps her light on her feet and quick to get somewhere. It also means she moves between islands in an afternoon rather than a passage, which is how most charters in the Bahamas actually run.

For eight guests who want space, speed and a yacht genuinely set up to fish, she reads as one of the sharper propositions in her bracket.
