About Thunder

Thunder makes an entrance. A 46-metre Palmer Johnson sport yacht with a dark hull and the low, muscular lines of a Nuvolari Lenard design, she is one of the more distinctive profiles on the charter market. She was built for pace and presence, and a 2023 refit has kept her interior fresh and current without softening the edge that makes her memorable.

She is a planing yacht, and she carries the performance to match her looks. Twin MTU engines drive her through the water with real urgency, and her aluminium hull keeps her light and quick between anchorages. For a party that treats the yacht as the centre of an active holiday rather than a floating hotel, that energy sets the tone for the whole week. She was among the faster yachts of her generation, and even now she covers the miles with a swagger that few displacement yachts can match.

Thunder splits her year between two of the best cruising grounds in the world. Winters run the Bahamas and the wider Caribbean, hopping between sandbars, reefs and quiet cays with the toys always close at hand. Summers move to the Western Mediterranean and the rhythm of the Riviera. Few yachts at this size are set up to do both as naturally, shallow enough for the sandbars and quick enough for the crossings.

Her interior, refreshed in 2023, is bright and contemporary, a run of cream and soft neutrals with warm timber and dark accents. The main saloon is an easy, open lounge with a wall of glass, and the dining sits close by beneath a sculptural staircase. Up a level, a sky lounge with its own bar opens to the aft deck, a relaxed room that blurs the line between inside and out.

Outdoors is where Thunder earns her keep. The sun deck carries a jacuzzi wrapped by a curved sunpad, and shaded lounges run across the aft decks for the middle of the day. The swim platform drops guests straight into the water, and the toy store is stocked for a fast, playful holiday, with jet skis, seabobs and a foil board alongside the tenders. A wet bar on the sky deck keeps drinks close to the action, and shaded seating gives guests a break from the sun.

Below, Thunder sleeps twelve guests across five cabins, including a bright master, a generous VIP and a flexible twin, each with its own bathroom and finished in the same clean palette. A crew of nine runs the yacht at the pace a sport yacht demands, keeping the days full and the service quiet and precise. Storage is generous throughout, and the layout keeps the guest and crew areas cleanly apart.

Thunder is a yacht with a clear point of view. She is fast, she is striking, and she is built for guests who want their charter to feel dynamic rather than sedate. For a group chasing sun, water and a little adrenaline across the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, she is a genuinely characterful choice, recently refreshed and ready for a full, high-energy week afloat.
