NEEL Trimarans is the French builder that did more than any other to bring the cruising trimaran into the mainstream of bluewater sailing. Founded in La Rochelle in 2010 by offshore racer Eric Bruneel, the yard set out to prove that three hulls could deliver the space, stability and comfort of a large catamaran while sailing faster and more easily. Every model is drawn by the Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group and built in advanced composite on the Atlantic coast, and the signature of the range is the Cockloon, a single level living space that merges the saloon, galley and helm with the cockpit so that life on board happens on one bright, connected deck. The current fleet runs from the 43 foot entry model to the 52 foot flagship, with the all new 48 arriving as the heart of the range. NEEL trimarans have a strong ocean record, including class honours in transatlantic rallies, and they hold their value well on the brokerage market. For an owner the appeal is simple.
